But, But, But... I'm A Writer Dammit!

Freelance Superstar

(Regular readers see note below this post)

Over the years one gets a fairly good read of the types of people who follow your blog. I mean this only in the most general sense. For example I can tell you that (based on the types of ads clicked) about 80% of the people who land on this site and take action (click something) are simply looking for a way to make a few bucks quickly without a lot of work involved or time investment. Programs like Project Payday and Cashcrate are designed for this audience. They are work at home jobs and not for the 15% of my readers who are looking to build a long term passive income online via Internet marketing.

This blog has focused on explaining the basic tasks involved in creating and maintaining a network of blogs that can produce residual income over a sustained time frame. If you are new here and not just looking to make a few dollars fast then I encourage you to start at the beginning of my archives and read forward - don't skip the comments.

By the time you are done you will have a good understanding of what is involved if you hope to make money online. At least as far as affiliate marketing and PPC (Adsense revenue) is concerned. Those of you who want to speed up the process and don't mind spending a few dollars can buy Janet Smith's Nomad's Guide to Making Money Online. It's the only ebook I have ever recommended to my readers and the reason is simple - Janet has outlined my methods in the book and does a great job explaining the basics to beginners. Unlike my blog the book is organized and to the point. It is a huge time saver but rest assured you can still learn all you need to know for free by reading this blog.

This brings me to another ebook just released by Monika Mundell called Freelance Superstar and it is aimed at the other 5% of my visitors - the "I'm a writer crowd". Over the years I have had umpteen writers ask for my help - they have great content but can't make a dime with it. From my perspective I have explained that they don't optimize their writing for the search engines and as a result they only get traffic from the social networks. In short they get readers but not buyers. This group of readers have always proved frustrating to work with - I offer advice on how to tweak their posts and blogs (using SEO) and invariably they tell me that "I'm a writer dammit!" and don't want to compromise their artistic integrity. Shortly thereafter I wish them well and leave them to their artistry.

In Monika's case however we have one such writer that wanted to make a career online being a freelance writer - making money writing for others as opposed to trying to make money providing content on her own sites. She does have her own sites as well but Monika's main income comes from selling her writing and helping others do the same. I have known Monika for years now and watched her learn the ropes from the ground up. She asked if I would help promote her book and as an old friend I am happy too. I am not going to write a review as you can find this already provided by RT How to Become a Freelance Writer and Lissie Consider a Freelance Business. I have never been comfortable flogging ebooks to my readers and turn down requests on a continuing basis. The fact is most people let ebooks collect virtual dust and rarely act on the information provided. Monika is one of the truly good people online and if you are really interested in making money as a freelance writer then I know she can provide all the guidance you will need - the best feature about buying her book is her - the fact that she will go out of her way to help people. Just visit her site Freelance Writing and pick her brain.

For my Regular Readers...

This post is obviously aimed at the hundreds of new readers I receive every week who write me emails asking where they can start - it seems no one really wants to read three years worth of posts. Most of you have learned that I tend to repeat topics on this blog often - a necessity given the influx of new readers. My plan is to keep this site aimed at beginners and deal with other topics that may be of interest to my advanced readers on my other site Make Money Online with Griz. Many of you noticed that I let both blogs sit idle for several months and I will be discussing the why's and wherefores shortly - hint, it has to do with how the new G serp algorithm works.

Unfortunately my plans lately have been interrupted by life. As many of you know I have sold the Fishing Lodge and have spent the past two weeks sitting in meetings with Lawyers, Bankers, Insurance Agents and Real Estate agents finalizing the Sale of the Lodge and the purchase of a home down south in the civilized world. I am still living up north but will be moving our belongings south on the winter roads this Feb/Mar. All these dealings have made me realize something - I don't have the same amount of time to commit to my online business when living in society. I should say - the reason I have been successful online is to a great extent because I have spent 16 years living on an Island on a far off remote lake in Northern Canada. I was able to run my Lodge and maintain my blog network on a daily basis without any outside social distractions - there isn't a lot of other things to do living in the middle of nowhere.

I have done nothing for the past two weeks accept race around Winnipeg from one meeting to the next and I must say - I'm not sure I like the civilized world. If I wasn't doing this for my kids I would never leave the bush. Perhaps I have turned into an eccentric old hermit as a result of living off the beaten path. I have been telling myself that at least there are Golf courses in the south...

End result of this ramble is to say that I have a large number of emails waiting - many regarding the new automated niche support page on the Griz blog. I will get back to everyone as soon as things are tied up here in the city and hope to be home by the weekend. For those of you who aren't subscribed to the Griz blog you might want to check out the last post if you are in need of backlinks - Niche Support

Okay - that's my update and I'm sticking to it.

Cheers,

Griz

Here is the house for those interested. It cost more than I paid for the Lodge 16 years ago - apparently housing prices shyrocketed while I was away... I did manage to get 4 acres with it - just enough room to build a 175 yard Par 3!

Griz,

Congrats on the lifestyle changes. I'm sure stepping outside your comfort zone and back into the real world is something that in time you'll be glad you did. Nothing like kids to get you motivated to do something you otherwise wouldn't.

I'm really loving the the niche support site and I hope that even with your reduced time in front of the computer you still find a little time or someone else to continue to tweak it as I know it's an awesome resource that a lot of us are digging.

Hopefully no one from G goes in there snooping around. Am I being over-paranoid to even suggest that?

Grizzly said...

Thanks Beer Pong,

Hopefully everyone uses common sense on the resource page - no urls and everyone uses only legit sites and preferably in post links then G shouldn't have a problem. After all the links are real and relevant to the niches involved. This is what G asks for and are far more relevant than article directory links or creating hubpage and squidoo farms.

I don't know how old your kids are but thats pretty nice of you to move them out of BFE. As someone who got moved to BFE from civilization when I was a teenager I freaking hated it. I got super badazz and started raising hell. Always wondered how you got internet in northern Canada? Satilite?

Brian said...

Welcome to civilization. Maybe a cell phone is in your future too? :)

Grizzly said...

Brendan,

The Canadian government spends billions of dollars providing remote Indian reserves with the same services available in the urban centers. They spent millions on a fiber line into our community a couple of years ago and we actually had high speed DSL before most of the rural areas down south. Gotta love socialism...

Grizzly said...

Brian,

Not a chance - been using my wife's cell for the past two weeks and hate it with a passion. People keep calling me on it - and - expect me to answer it when they call. The nerve!

Nice middle class looking house in suburbia. Must cost a fortune to heat that bear sized pool. Four acres is enough to dig a pond and stock it with fish.

Grizzly said...

Ben,

To hell with the fish - spent 16 years doing that... time to work on the pitching wedge! ;-)

Anonymous said...

Nice....but I'm not sure I would call anywhere in Canada "civilization". But then again, I am now thinking the same thing about the US.

Grizzly said...

Anon... lol - that should raise the ire of about 75% of my readers.

Tempting I must say but I decided to stay close to home. My kids are the only Grandkids in the family and thought we would keep them close to the Grandparents. My choice would have been Mexico...

New Brunswick is beautiful and I imagine you've got some stellar golf courses. I see ads for Golf in PEI all the time and plan on doing an eastern golf vacation one of these years. Spent a month in Newfoundland years ago and must admit Maritimers are the friendliest people I have ever met.

Griz, I totally get the fact that being in the family/social world takes a certain amount of time. LOL!

It's kind of like one can be an A student in college whilst living alone, or a C student if living in a dorm. haha

Congrats of the lodge sale, and the new home. May you have days in the near future without lawyer bills. :-)

Grizzly said...

Hey Jo Ann,

Thanks and funny you mentioned lawyer bills - I just finished reaming out my Lawyer and the Lodge Buyers' lawyer yesterday as the two have been dragging things out for months. Padding their bills of course. What started out as a simple 5 page agreement turned into a 75 page contract monstrosity. effin' Lawyers!!!

Hey Griz, that's a nice ice skating pond you got in the back yard, but someone must have turned a big hairdryer on it! haha!

I suppose it must get warm enough there in summer to swim without getting hypothermia...

You'll still have time to play with computers, even in civilisation. Its not as if you're going to have to get a J-O-B or anything to demand yoru time LOL!

Grizzly said...

Terry,

LMAO - yes, we do manage to get in a few weeks of swimming here in Canada.

Funny thing about the J-O-B - people don't really know what to say when they ask what I do and I tell them I work online. Kind of a blank stare as they try and figure out if I'm kidding while they wrestle with the fact I don't go "Off" to work like everyone else. I tried to explain to the guys on the golf course this summer that I "was" working as we played but I don't think they got "it". :-)

Can't wait to hear your reasoning behind leaving your sites dormate for a few months.

I am surprised that you can have an outdoor pool in Canada. Its cold in ND and you way the hell up there compared to that. The plus side it isn't to far north and I tend to make it to that part of the country every now and again. Might have to check out that backyard par 3!

Wow..The place looks nice Griz... However, I would have to keep the lodge or would have moved in where you still can get some shade with trees.. As far as the kids.. I know what you mean.. I would have left Michigan a long time ago if it wasn't for the grandkids...Yes, I said grand kids cause they would throw a fit If I moved.. I know we have a daughter about the same age.... I just found out.. I a will be adding a new one.. It may time to upgrade to a bigger home.. So..75 pages to sell.. I think my last one was 40 pages..lol.. Hope things settle down for you.

I have no idea how so many people beat me to your posts every time. I swear I check my feed reader constantly.

Anyway...

Congrats on the new house! Looks nice from what I can see. Hope everything from the lodge sale goes smoothly. Don't worry you'll still have plenty of time to sit at your computer down in the "civilized" world. My butt is planted in front of this thing every day and I have plenty to do around me. Then again, I don't like to golf nearly as much as you do so I think you might need to figure out how to pull yourself away from the course every once in a while.

Can't believe it is going to take that long to move.

My blog has been down for quite a while now (I'm getting to hate WP) so I have not been able to give Janet and Monika a little luv back to them. They definitely deserve it. Also Lis has just released a new book for free for anyone interested in selling websites. Some good info there too.

Unfortunately my family and I have not escaped this pig flu going around so I am way behind on EVERYTHING! Hope to catch up real soon.

Oh! You can still be a hermit even in civilization!

I envy your courage, and the sacrifice of change -- especially when it comes to leaving the peace and serenity of nature.
Personally I despise change; especially geographical change. Even when Kristine and I simply go to the Dells or somewhere else in northern Wisconsin to get away, the anticipation of returning to my comfort zone grows each day. Paradoxically, venturing to the north woods and getting away from the city is so relaxing that coming back home to civilization brings with it some sadness of returning to the rat race...
But life is life!
I'm truly sad to hear that your online time will be diminished, but perhaps once you settle in and acquire your new routine you may be able to dedicate more time to your passion?
Always looking forward to your next post.

Hi Griz,

I wanted to thank you for shouting my new product to your readers. I wasn't sure whether you would since it is so damn hard to get in touch with you.

I sent you several emails since our last conversation about niche sites and never got a reply so I thought you didn't consider me as your friend anymore. :(

But of course I was wrong - or was I - now I know you've got better things to do than chat with an old mate being busy as you are with all the moving and organizing.

Heck, I wouldn't want to be in your shoes right now. It must be touch leaving paradise behind and sticking your head back into civilization. I guess you found out for yourself already. LOL.

Good on you for doing this for your kids. I'm sure despite all the social responsibilities you are going to end up building a great offline community around your family - just look at what you've done here.

I ought to be smacked on the behind for not cruising by here more often. If there is one blog I hate to miss reading each day it's yours - and I mean that you know it!

Anyway, I'm in danger of turning this comment into a bloody mini eBook so I better stop.

Thanks for all you do.

I like Terry cannot really understand the concept of Pool and Canada - is "how can I turn my pool into an ice rink" a profitable niche?

At least moving houses buying/selling explains why you don't answer emails anymore - its OK Monika I thought I'd upset him too LOL

I too am on the move - back "home" - I have been giving some thought to the answer to "when are you getting a job" - "when hell freezes over" is not always what people want to hear I find! I am yet to come up with anything better than Vic's "I'm an online drug dealer" - though "I work for Google" has some appeal...

Thanks for the kind comment re my free ebook- people can give me their emails for my spammy marketing - just by cliking the links

Great post Griz! Civilized life isn't so bad although the traffic will definitely get to you depending on the area that you live. You made a comment about you letting your blogs sit idle for several months. Anyway, can't wait to hear your thoughts about how the new serp algorithm works.

The house looks great. Will you miss being out in the sticks?

A question to you and all the regulars - article submission software/spinners - have you used any? Which ones and what is your experience with them?

Seems a good way to leverage your time when starting out to get backlinks.
I just don't want to be scammed with one that doesn't perform.

Anyway I hope the new pad works out well for you!

Hey Grizz

Looking forward to hearing about your insights into the algorithm changes. I was never sure which site of yours to keep a close eye on, so I just loaded everything into Google Reader and hoped for the best.

It's true that a social and family life can eat a big hole in your portfolio building, I live semi rural and am always thankful for my lack of distractions. Sometimes the dog decides she's going to catch her some kangaroos (she never does), but that's about as exciting as it gets here. But yeah, kids are definitely top priority, and you're to be commended for putting them first. It's a pity more parents don't.

Hope the move goes well for you, and that you still manage to create your own oasis, even if it is in suburbia...

Leaving the wilds?

I think that has what has helped us with our journey in Internet Marketing. Living up a mountain in Spain sure makes you get down to work every day.

Gotta say though Grizz don't think I could handle isolation and that weather. Man, isolated and warm I can handle but cold? No way.

Maybe you really have hit on something though. Not as many external distractions does help you to knuckle down to work, although driving for an hour to go shopping can get a little tedious.

So, what, like 16 more years and I will be earning what you do? I reckon 5 years and I will be on $30,000 a month easy.

In reply to article Anonymous about article spinners, be careful. You should see some of the crap we get submitted to our site. It stands out a mile away and a single manual inspection of rubbish that many of them produce can leave you wondering why your sites got de-indexed. I would keep that kind of stuff well away from any money sites. I think there is a lot to be said for writing all your own. An ezine takes like 10 minutes if that to rattle off.

Hey Griz,
Nice crib your got there, but a pool in Canada is about as useless as teets on a Bull ain't it?
Anyway, I have a couple things to throw at you.
1) I love Monika. Her blog is well written and helpful and her posts are interesting all at the same time. I used to make money on the internet by freelance writing but gave it up, however, I may get her book and read it to support her efforts and to see if I can maybe re-spark my interest in writing for money.
2) I have a blog in a "real blog" niche (you were there once, has to do with green grass) and I have to repeat the posts EVERY single year. I just re-write them from a new perspective. But you know what's funny? It is the oldest and longest subscribers that get the most out of the repeated posts. I guess that r'epetition is the key to learning' as they say. So please my friend, just keep writing and repeating... we are "getting" it.
3) I really respect that you have moved out of your paradise in the North for your kids. I have done the same for my sons. I would never stay in the cold Chicago area but for them.
My idea of seclusion is a beach in the Caymans or at least Florida, but I get what you mean man.
As always, you rock brother!
I have big news coming soon myself.. sold one of my sites for low/mid 5 figures.... waiting for lawyers to review and waiting for the check, then will post about it.

I was just setting out to post about 'increasing traffic with images' and found the big G has dropped ALL my pics [on a PR2 Trust rank site] on image search. It is only that site, and I have not altered anything much recently - except for getting 'exploited' about 2 months ago.

Anybody know anything about this? Is it a trend?

That house with that kind of space will sure cost a fortune in Africa. We don't have such luxury except one choose to leave in the remote villages where electricity is luxury and high speed internet connection is yet a dream. Congrats on your relocation. The kids will sure like it.
And thanks for the niche support project. That was quite thoughtful of you. Cheers.

Change sure can be hard at times (especially in case as significant as yours) but hopefully you'll find it was worth it. Getting out of my comfort area and truly experiencing new areas/culture/etc. is something that I definitely need to get around.

And about the point you've made in your post, it's definitely a good one. If you'd really like to make money in this game then you need to alter your content so that it can reach as many interested surfers/prospects as possible. And the thing is, you really don't have to sacrifice your writing entirely. You can still write compelling content (it think the rewards are even greater if you do), it's just that you also need to consider the technical side of things.

Anonymous said...

Dave, thanks for your reply, will keep that in mind.

Any thoughts on mass automated submissions though?

Another question I'm not too sure about -

If you have a niche, for instance "computers" and you get a site address as "http://computers.com" and during your research you find that there is a high amount of search traffic for "laptops", would you go after the laptops keyword on the computers.com site?
Or would you set up an individual site eg: laptops.com?

I'm just not sure of the best approach.
Thanks guys,

Cheers,
Jay

Hey Griz,

I remember you saying that you wanted to move out your 'hood' for the sake of the kids and to be honest thats a great decision. I am soon to be a father and am relishing the opportunity of providing everything I can for my kids! Isnt that one of life's greatest objectives? Other than getting on top of the SERPs that is!

Just a quick question before I go, as I dont wanna fill up your inbox: Do you have any advice about ranking highly in foreign google search engines, e.g. google.de, google.es, google.gr. For example, if I want to rank highly for "xyz" in google.de (with xyz being a brand name for an international company).
How important (if any) are local links (with the right anchor text)? Is there any other advice you can offer?

Cheers and good luck.

p.s. What's your mobile phone number? lol

AS per your advice I set my blogger blog to show just one post on the frontpage, this way people are reaching my blog by using some long tails that I use in my latest post, but instead of reaching that post's page (the one with html at the end) they reach the frontpage. If I update the blog a new post replaces the old one, does that mean people who were reaching my blog throguh keywords included in that post will no longer able to do so? I hope that makes sense.

Greetings
Pedro

Good luck on the move to civilization, the rest of us are trying to get out of the rat race, and now you're moving back into it - doesn't make sense but I know when I start earning decent money I'll probably move back to the city as well. Crazy how money means we can afford to enjoy living in civilization, but without it we need the lower cost of living offered by a country lifestyle

Ei Griz,
Congrats on your new crib! And it's good to hear that you gave up your lodge for the sake of your children's future (new father here and just got another tip about parenting). =)

Btw, your newly acquired place on the 'civilized' world looks awesome, not to mention that spacious pool for the bear to relax after a birdie. =)

About the cell phone thingy.. it seems that it's your obligation to return call on the person who's miss callin' you... lol

Good luck and more power,
Ariston

and oh, I'm not a writer, dammit!

Your fur is gonna make cleaning that pool a freakin' nightmare. Congrats on the new place though!

Wow- the two new banners up top are pretty enough that it almost looks like you don't have a plain ol' ugly blog anymore! And you're selling the lodge and moving to civilization? AND you're using your wife's cell phone?

I feel the world no longer makes sense.

Enjoy that new par three and that heated fishing pond outside your door. ;-)

Great place! I love it... so when can I come over for dinner? ;) :P I'm just kidding..

But yes, your blog while helpful for people looking to make money online, is pretty much a lot of reading. I'm a frequent visitor but I'm sure that there are many things that even I miss.. I'm definitely going to look into those suggested ebooks.

Hey Griz,

On the question of living in warmer climes, I believe there are one or two retrobate IM'ers living here in sourthern Spain LMAO!

Ok, there are some disadvantages to living here that Americans in particular will not like much - like being turned down for a myriad of lucrative, US based affiliate, PPC and lead generation offers, which is crazy as the WWW is supposed to be worldwide, but there you go.

Plus if you're not an EU passport holder you are not allowed to stay more than 3 months. My friend Jim from Chicago, who I've known for most of the 8 years I've lived here may disagree. I don't know how he's managed to dodge that little rule for so long, but it just goes to show how much he likes living here!

The advantages here on the Costa del Sol are many - a lower cost of living; lots of sunshine and warmth; free beer (ok, not free but very cheap beer if you know where to look); great food; friendly, family oriented people; a slow, relaxed way of life...

Its a culture shock if you're used to everything being done yesterday. The wheels of administration turn veeerrry slooowwwly. Here, "can do" is "might or might not do... tomorrow" LOL

Would I live anywhere else?

Nah, I like it here muy mucho so I can't see me moving anytime soon.

Griz,

Please write the next post. The suspense is killing me!

2 Question: in your beginer series you talked about rewriting one's money website article using synonyms to submit to article directories for links. Is this still effective or is there going to be a problem due to the duplicate content penalty rule that google has? There doesn't seem to be a lot of info on what google definition is of duplicate content. Do you know more about what they look for?

Griz,

Back to some kind of civilization, huh? So here's my question - as you get closer and closer to the incessant noise of the populace and feel the pressure of the civilized world - will you be more distracted? Will you write as much? Will your pool reflect back your insights?

You hinted at it - but, I think you'll be fine. Great choice for the kids. (Tell Allyn that even 3 months with a pool is even sweeter up north than laying around a pool in FL drinking Red Bull)

Congrats and enjoy the new digs!

Hey Griz

I came across your blog earlier in the year but it didn't all click at first (d'oh) ... you know some of us have to ignore the R-E-A-L information for a little longer just to check some more rubbish!

Now I've returned and I've gone back and re-read everything + comments (my poor eyes :0)!) it's the same info yet it seems so different now that I'm in a different place (mind wise). Is this the clicking that everyone talks about?

Congratulations on the move, the house looks lovely!

Hope there's room for more people in this community because I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone. Feel like I already do from reading all the comments!

Take care

great house pics....as for cash crate it is definetely only for those who want to work from home and do it constantly not for people who are looking to build a passive income online. I have tried it and found it to be very time consuming. However it is good for some as you say. I am very impressed with your blog keep up the good work with it, I have personally made my first million this but not working online, working offline as a freelance writer and I also own my won writers agency. I am now on a mission to make a second million online and have started a blog detailing that here it is and I hope to see you around soon. I have subscribed to your blog feed and followed you and I will be reading more of your stuff on a daily basis. Keep up the fantastic work you are doing a great job.

Griz or anyone that knows, can you use adsense on mulitple sites? (more than 20)

A friend of mine said he has 30 sites, making $5-ish dollars a day. Won't that get you banned in the long run? I'm only asking because I already have 8 sites and don't know if I show register another adsense account with my wife's name or just keep using mine.

Any guidelines on this please.

DinoEntrails said...

Keep using your account. You can have adsense on as many sites as you want. Ben over at make money online with seo has hundreds of sites on his adsense account.

The only problem happen when you run out of channels to use(I think there are a couple hundred though)

I have adsense on 11+ sites and I luckly have not been banned :)
l also registred accounts under my brothers name, just to be on the safe side. http://www.stumbleuponguru.com

Hello Grizz
I just want to wish you well and say thanks for your guidance.

I am on Spot 6 (Page 1) for the phrase "Get Money For Beginners" just 34 days I created my blog. Ahead of 6,160,000 results.

I did it alone by myself with 100% free tools I gathered from Internet.

By the way you are Spot 1 for that long tail keyword.

I am still not getting visitors due to this is not a very searched term. I need now to move forward and capitalize this situation.

Should I add Adsense now or wait until get visitors from Google?. Should I hassle more long tail keywords?. Shoud I create more blogs and add more topics (Market Niches)?.

I am in the situation of analyzing next step while backlinking for more keywords to rank high in SERPs.

Hi Griz,

I've been a regular reader of your blog for the last year or so and have really increased my income by a good amount by implementing some of the stuff that I have learned. In fact, just using your methods alone have earned me well over $1,000/month with adsense so I'm very grateful for the information that you provide. I only wish that I found you earlier. I just have one question that I was hoping to get some help on.

I've read in one of your posts that one of the reasons why you rarely post is because it has had an effect on your adsense earnings since the new keywords in the post title might not be very targeted which would result in a lower CPC.

This makes a ton of sense since if someone finds your site from the keywords "how to make money" but finds a post that talks about say... "PPC Web Spy - Brad Callen" then the ads would be related according to the post title. You mentioned that this really isn't a problem though if you backlink individual pages and have those pages ranking. The thing is... for most of my sites its the home page that ranks for the prime keywords that I was targeting.

I like to build micro niche websites that tend to rank really high just by having the exact keyword in the URL, writing a mega post (1,500+ words) and submitting a few articles. Just these methods alone have gotten me ranking on page 1 for several of my websites. Here's an example. If my website was "thick yoga mats" (it's not) and my first post was also titled "Thick Yoga Mats" with tons of relevant content with the main phrase and other related long tails related a bunch of times, wouldn't it be best to just leave it as a sticky post so that it's always on the home page?

My understanding is the reason why some domains rank highly is simply because of the keywords that are found in the URL. However, if I decide to add a new post that targets a new keyword like "Yoga Training For Beginners" then the blog will update with this new post on the home page. However, someone that finds my site for "thick yoga mats" will instead be presented with a post on the home page that talks about yoga training instead.

I know you preach tweaking your post titles to trigger the right ads, so what would you do in this scenario? The ads would be relevant according to yoga training material but if someone comes to the home page looking for "thick yoga mats" but clicks an ad that's related to yoga training, then the G man knows that they're not targeted visitors.

I'm just still confusd with adsense sometimes as most of my search traffic does come from the main keywords I target in my URL. So I'm just a bit worried that if I make a post targeting a new keyword prase, that it won't be very optimized and that I'll be penalized with a lower CPC or lower rankings. Anyways, hope this makes sense and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I wouldn't go past 10 sites / account. Because I'm paranoid like that. I'm so paranoid, I have 1 ISP/account and only log on my business account when I'm on the office.

Is it difficult to get an adsense account nowadays? Anyone? I haven't tried in close to two years I think.

Project Payday - A Legit Method to Make Money at Home

I have included Project Payday on my blog for all of my readers who write in asking if there are any legit online programs that they can use to make some quick money. Project Payday is not a get rich quick scheme - it is more like a work at home job. You don't need a blog or website as it involves getting paid to try out trial offers from online advertisers. There is work to this but you can realistically earn a couple of hundred dollars a day if you want to put in the effort.

I have written several posts about this and suggest you start with this one. Project Payday

Unfortunately Project Payday is only available to American users at this time. Their sister program is still available to users in the US, Canada, UK and Australia. (free to join as well) Affiliate Income Partners

CashCrate is another similar program (you get paid to take trial offers for products, services or completing online surveys etc.) Cashcrate does accept people world wide and they have a decent selection for Canadian and UK residents. If you are American then you will benefit the most as you have the most offers to choose from. Btw - it's free to join.

For comparative purposes the stats below reflect my actual earnings with Cashcrate.

A Little Heart to Heart

If you have made it this far down the page then I assume you might just be serious about learning how to make a real sustainable living online - as opposed to the thousands of visitors I see daily looking for that "get rich quick" miracle that really doesn't happen without a winning lottery ticket.

You have probably figured out by now that you aren't going to find the answer in a $47 ebook or by following your favorite twit on twitter. The fact is many of you are still wondering how this plain free hosted Blogger blog dominates the rankings on the search engines - right? Did you find this site by typing in "make money online" in Google?

If you did then you are halfway to learning the secret to making money online - you need targeted traffic from the search engines (for any niche you pick) and once you have that, you can sell them what they are looking for. Sounds simple and on paper it is - actually dominating the search engines is the hard part. It takes time and you do need to understand keywords and anchor text links. You can spend time on this site and sift through my posts to learn this or you can do yourself a favor and pony up one buck and test drive Court's Keyword Academy Crash Course for a month and learn just why I rank number 1 in the search engines.

This isn't another waste of money or time - just an honest answer for the few of you willing to do the work and who really do want to make a long term sustainable living online. Read my blog from back to front or try a more focused approach with Court - either way you will not be disappointed.

Cheers
