Video Blogger - Allyn Hane takes on Problogger

Just had to post this Video series done by the Master of His own Domain - Allyn Hane who just got back from a little Cancun vacation and managed to tape some interviews with some notable internet marketers. In the first of a series (all this week) Allyn interviews Mr. Problogger himself Darren Rowse. Apparently Allyn, who runs the video blog Blogger Illustrated, was also able to interview Gary Vaynerchuk, Courtney Tuttle, Griz (me - really?) and of course, his mentor, Vic Franqui who all just happened to be staying in the same hotel in Mexico.

It should be an interesting (and humorous week - international spelling).

Be sure to drop in on Al and leave a comment or two - and bring your own beer... To leave a comment visit Al's Interview with Darren Rowse

Part 2 - Al's Interview with Gary Vaynerchuk

Part 3 - Al get's Courtney Tuttle to reveal his next big project... How to Pick Up 100 Chicks in 30 Days

Part 4 - Al Interviews Griz ... or tries to...

Part 5 - Al Interviews Blogger Unleashed's Vic Franqui. (Language warning - put your parents to bed first)

Cheers,

Griz

Hey Griz,
Great stuff. Big fan and I've been applying what I've learned and am approaching getting my second check from adsense. I had a couple of questions one of which was in reference to your last post about mining the stats for keywords. On my wordpress blog, my tag pages are indexed in Google per Courts advice over at the Keyword Academy. I've noticed that I get searches clicking over to my tag pages instead of the actual post I'm targeting. Should I send links to the actual post for the keyword I'm targeting or to the tag page people found the keyword on?

My second question is about maximizing my CPC with adsense targeting. If I find a keyword that
has a high CPC and put it in my post title and people find me on a long tail that I wrote about in the post that has a CPC of .05 for example, if it converts well for the advertiser, can I expect the CPC of the main keyword I targeted or the longtail?

If I make my entire blog devoted to one overall main keyword and slap a bunch of posts on there that target the phrases people find me with as they come up, and make new posts for those phrases specifically, what can I expect from adsense if those keywords don't show they pay anything in the adwords too. Should I not target a post to them?

I guess I'm trying to figure out how to best target my adsense ads to the keywords people are actually finding me with and I'm also wondering how the interest based ads are performing.

Thanks and I can't wait to see you in the Mexico interview.

Griz,

How come you don't rank on the front of google for "how to make money with Ebay" or making money with ebay?
Just curious?

DinoEntrails said...

Hey Griz, this may seem like a really stupid question, but how do you write crappy content? How do you not help the searcher at all. The problem is that you still have to provide long-tails and keyword-rich content at the same time.

For example, I have a blog called How to get rid of possum(howtogetridofpossum.blogspot.com). So, I tell people how to get rid of possum. How am I supposed to not help them while at the same time, providing keyword-rich content.

By the way, on that same blog, I tried your 'ol "Do ants scratch there ass" trick, and searched for the keyword in quotes, which brought no results, so I wrote a post about it, then pinged google blogs and weblogs, and waited, but nothing happened.

Now that was hilarious! Couldn't have been said in a better way. He just gained me as a fan for sure. I'd subscribe to his blog but I can't get the damn thing to open right now.

Great to have you back with all these posts Griz!

@ DennisJR

You seem like a sensible person. You only rank for what you promote.(in a nutshell)reference-www.thefreedictionary.com/in+a+nutshell

Does this answer your question?

If not, head back to college and do a little more studying.

Mark said...

Griz,

Your first ever video post on this blog? :D
It looks a bit too beautiful in my opinion.

DennisJr said...

@Dirk
Griz per his own words ranks for of 5k of MMO words. If you have been a long time reader like me you know Griz figures out ways to funnel traffic for things like golf cart batteries or oil filters. Therefore, he doesn't need to promote anything E-Bay.

So, Griz.. where the post for " why I don't make money using ebay"

hmm.. I believe you would say it's too much work ;o)

Kenney said...

I haven't commented in a looong while, my bad Griz, but man that waaaassss funny. Can't wait to see him interview you. lol rofl lmao

@Mark - Yeah this waaaaay to nice looking of a post. ;)

Grizz, there was me just finishing an epic post about how to make money online and telling everyone that I owe it to the guy with the number one spot.

What happened dude? Temporary I am sure.

Anyway this is a belated thank you. You made me be able to afford to keep our self sufficient life. I never normally write about such things on my site. It was started in the early days before I knew what I was doing.

People became interested in how I make a living online now (just) so I explained in a make money online post.

Thanks to your evil influence it ended up being over 6,ooo words and my head is about to explode.

Anyway I just wanted to say thanks for the information. In 4 months of knowing what I was doing I am now up to about $100 or so dollars a day and moving steadily on up. I wasted five months before that doing it all wrong.

You still da man and I appreciate everything you do here.

It will be interesting to see how well such an epic post does on a young but really quite a flagship blog. I tried to concisely give an introduction to how to go about earning the cash online but soon realsied that brevity is not possible, even for a quick overview. I would apreciate your thoughts on it. I won't put a link here but it will be on the homepage for a while. I, of course, gave you full credit.

Thanks again, you saved me from a life of mixing concrete in the Spanish Sun. And no, sorry, but I don't know what the Golf courses are like here.

Hey man I was down Augusta on the weekend but I didn't see you there on the course - mind you it would make the news big time if a Grizz was seen on an Australian course!

DinoEntrails again said...

I was wondering, what am I supposed to do if I built too many links?

Here is what I mean. I made a blog, and right off the bat, I was getting one backlink(article or comment) per day. So, immediately, google thought I was spam, and although I am not indexed, I am not ranking worth a darn on any of my keywords.

So, what do I do? I have stopped building links for a month or so, and got another 1 today, but should I continue building MORE rigorously to make the beginning look like less, or just slowly start up again??

You are already indexed man! Don't get too excited. Getting indexed takes time. It could be an hour, a day, a week. It depends.

With regards to your keywords. You won't rank if you are not indexed ( you are now).

And you won't rank if your competition is too strong.

Read up man. Or Join TheKeywordAcademy.

But still, remember that there are things you need to figure out yourself.

Hey Griz... this is sooo funny I don't know if you read this post yet BUT I guarantee you you will get a kick out of this.

I was doing some keyword research for a up and coming post and found this post on Pro Blogger:

Anyway, you will LOVE LOVE LOVE the #2 reason. Just thought it was perfect laugh.

Project Payday - A Legit Method to Make Money at Home

I have included Project Payday on my blog for all of my readers who write in asking if there are any legit online programs that they can use to make some quick money. Project Payday is not a get rich quick scheme - it is more like a work at home job. You don't need a blog or website as it involves getting paid to try out trial offers from online advertisers. There is work to this but you can realistically earn a couple of hundred dollars a day if you want to put in the effort.

I have written several posts about this and suggest you start with this one. Project Payday

Unfortunately Project Payday is only available to American users at this time. Their sister program is still available to users in the US, Canada, UK and Australia. (free to join as well) Affiliate Income Partners

CashCrate is another program similar to Project Payday and they do accept people world wide - it's free to join.

For comparative purposes the stats below reflect my actual earnings with Cashcrate.

A Little Heart to Heart

If you have made it this far down the page then I assume you might just be serious about learning how to make a real sustainable living online - as opposed to the thousands of visitors I see daily looking for that "get rich quick" miracle that really doesn't happen without a winning lottery ticket.

You have probably figured out by now that you aren't going to find the answer in a $47 ebook or by following your favorite twit on twitter. The fact is many of you are still wondering how this plain free hosted Blogger blog dominates the rankings on the search engines - right? Did you find this site by typing in "make money online" in Google?

If you did then you are halfway to learning the secret to making money online - you need targeted traffic from the search engines (for any niche you pick) and once you have that, you can sell them what they are looking for. Sounds simple and on paper it is - actually dominating the search engines is the hard part. It takes time and you do need to understand keywords and anchor text links. You can spend time on this site and sift through my posts to learn this or you can do yourself a favor and pony up one buck and test drive Court's Keyword Academy Crash Course for a month and learn just why I rank number 1 in the search engines.

This isn't another waste of money or time - just an honest answer for the few of you willing to do the work and who really do want to make a long term sustainable living online. Read my blog from back to front or try a more focused approach with Court - either way you will not be disappointed.

Cheers

Griz
