I get a lot of emails from readers asking for some help with their sites. Unfortunately I don`t have the time to give everyone the attention they need. One lovely lady has been corresponding with me lately regarding her Gourmet Recipe blog. Her name is Vicki and she is brand new to this business but isn`t short on gumption. I`ve given her a few pointers but she is getting bogged down on a lot of technical issues like adding photos, a statcounter etc. She`s using Blogger and if I wasn`t in a Golf Tournament this weekend I would deal with it myself but since I can`t I thought I`d throw this out to you folks and ask if anyone has a few minutes to give Vicki a hand.
Oh she also asked if I knew of anyway to help her get some free traffic...
This should help. Lol.
So if any of you have a few moments on a Sunday please pay it forward and give Vicki a hand. You can contact her in her comments on her blog - The Recession Proof Gourmet
Thanks and just think how good you will feel afterward!
Cheers,
Griz
Update: Monday Morning You guys are too cool - thanks for all the help you`ve shown to Vicki and I just thought I`d add a link to Joomla Bear`s site so you can check out the post he wrote for her. (Thanks Lachlan)
Fresh Niche Marketing Tips
and for those who asked in the emails - I didn`t win, I shot a net 66 (I`m a 7 Handicap) but the winner shot a net 58. (Sandbagger!) You non-Golf types won`t have a clue what that means... lol.
Oh and what about that Tiger fella`... 70 wins and counting!
Thanks again everyone.
Btw - recipe sites are a good way of getting your feet wet online if you like to cook or like to eat - which just about covers everyone. :-)
see Potato Patch Recipes from the Potato Chef
see Southern Cooking: Easy Recipes from the Past from the Left Handed Guitar Player; a fella that's been a good friend to both me and this little community, Ben Willis
If you`d like to show off your Recipe site please send me an email or leave a comment and I`ll add it to the list.

Great Grandmother Needs Help
Project Payday - A Legit Method to Make Money at Home
I have included Project Payday on my blog for all of my readers who write in asking if there are any legit online programs that they can use to make some quick money. Project Payday is not a get rich quick scheme - it is more like a work at home job. You don't need a blog or website as it involves getting paid to try out trial offers from online advertisers. There is work to this but you can realistically earn a couple of hundred dollars a day if you want to put in the effort.
I have written several posts about this and suggest you start with this one. Project Payday
Unfortunately Project Payday is only available to American users at this time.
CashCrate is another program similar to Project Payday and they do accept people world wide - it's free to join.
For comparative purposes the stats below reflect my actual earnings with Cashcrate.
A Little Heart to Heart
You have probably figured out by now that you aren't going to find the answer in a $47 ebook or by following your favorite twit on twitter. The fact is many of you are still wondering how this plain free hosted Blogger blog dominates the rankings on the search engines - right? Did you find this site by typing in "make money online" in Google?
If you did then you are halfway to learning the secret to making money online - you need targeted traffic from the search engines (for any niche you pick) and once you have that, you can sell them what they are looking for. Sounds simple and on paper it is - actually dominating the search engines is the hard part. It takes time and you do need to understand keywords and anchor text links. You can spend time on this site and sift through my posts to learn this or you can do yourself a favor and pony up one buck and test drive Court's Keyword Academy Crash Course for a month and learn just why I rank number 1 in the search engines.
This isn't another waste of money or time - just an honest answer for the few of you willing to do the work and who really do want to make a long term sustainable living online. Read my blog from back to front or try a more focused approach with Court - either way you will not be disappointed.
Cheers
Griz

How's the tournament going?

This is the first time i am able to grab this first place for post a comment at your blog.
I will see what I can do for her tech issues.
Good luck with the tournament.
I'll pay it forward, heading over to the look at the tasty gourmet recipes shortly - I have a number of sites that should be linking out to a good gourmet food site.
PS: Thx for the tips on BSL Griz and good luck in the tournament.
Grizz...you are alright!!!
Who in the world would pass up helping out Grandma :)
Hi Griz,
I am sure a lot of your readers will respond in this situation. It's a good feeling when you're helping others especially those beginners who don't know how to make money online (like me). I want to help Vicki, teach her how to earn money in the internet just like you did to me but i guess I don't have the advance tutorials in earning money while blogging yet (just the basics) so I will just shut up my mouth. LOL. I will give the responsibility to those readers who are earning big bucks.
I am now in my fourth month of meeting the required minimum $100 in Adsense. It's all because of your lessons her, Griz. NOt big money but i know the potentials and I am hoping to earn more. I don't want to sound a bit emo here. Just wanted to tell you how much you helped me as well as my family in our situation. I am one of the millions affected by global recession and I have no work til now. I don't know what to do when I stumble at your site and learned your "how to make money online in the internet for beginners" and understand all the things required to be on top of the serp. I have only one blogspot with Adsense but luckily I am in my fourth month of hitting the threshold. The needed tutorials about making money with blogging or should I say free lessons on internet marketing are all here on this blog so everyone should pay attention and open their eyes to earn money,. It is possible to pay the bills with adsense and it is possible to make a fortune out of it. You just have to follow all necessary "tricks" and you can make it on top of the search engine. Thank you Griz.
Dunno about traffic as I am as deprived of it as her, LOL, but I can give her a link. If that would help.
Well I gave Vicki a link from one of my better mainstream blogs (but obviously I have many sites where it probably wouldn't help to give her a link from, lol!).
She should actually get some traffic from it too.
So it's only little, but I hope it helps.
Zania
I'm going to be giving her love this week Grizz. Got some links I can throw her way and I'll try to drop her a line to help her out with the less techie stuff like statcounter, etc...
Hi Grizz, my friend.
Well, if you ask to help Vicki, i`m on ...
I´ve allready visited her blog and leaved a comment there with some advice/changes she should do on her blogger blog.
Cumps 2 U all
Grizz and Vic ;)
Of course everyone is willing to help. It sounds like a good experiment.
BTW quite a long time ago, you asked (in some post that I dont remember now) about adsense in other languages. I have been testing things in Spanish. I would be happy to have a chat about it lol
Greetings,
Edgar
Zane - close, number 3. Lol Better luck next time!
Larry - When a Grandmother asks for help you just have too - it`s a rule! Thanks - as always for your support.
Mike - I`m glad to hear you are making headway and seeing some good results. You know it works now instead of `hoping`it works - a big hurdle to get over in the MMO racket. Now it`s just a matter of rinse and repeat and one day you find that you are making a decent living at this. All the best to you and the family.
Costa - links always work! :-)
Thanks Zania - I can just imagine the look on her face if you had sent a link from one of your `money` sites... lol.
Thai, appreciate the Love. Thanks much.
Artur, You are da`man. You always take the time to support others - a true friend and thanks once again.
Edgar - I have a lot of Spanish and Portuguese friends who would be interested in your results. If you would be willing to email a post with your thoughts I would love to publish it here. (Naturally there would be some link love and traffic for you if interested)
Just email me at the contact email near the bottom of the page.
Hi!
I just(month ago) made a blog.It is in estonian language, it is about cocktail´s.Can anyone help me with my blog(kokteilid)give some advise etc.?I also gave her a backlink:)
Hey just another grandma here...and I helped by providing a blog roll link for your grandma from one of my support sites.
Hey Griz,
I know this has nothing to do with the post, but I had a quick question about smart pricing. Yesterday I had a pretty good day with my adsense, and today, I noticed that I had a TON of clicks, but they were all paying WAY less than they normally do... My earnings are pretty steady from day-to-day.
Anyways, I immediately thought that I was "smart priced." I went ahead and removed ads from 2 sites that were not getting a lot of direct search engine traffic and had a low CTR and within an hour, I think that my CPC is back to normal.
Is it possible to bounce out of smart pricing this quickly? Or was I getting worried over nothing? P.S. I read your full post on this topic and it was really helpful. THANKS!
^Hey Griz... there was never a problem, just me freaking out over nothing...
I sent her a link from "southern cooking"
http://southerncookingeasyrecipes.blogspot.com/
Hi Griz;
Found you at last!!!!! This is the great grandmother (boy I sure do feel ancient!!!!) I promised to thank yo on your blog for the help so here goes:
THANK YOU FOR PUTTING OUT THE CALL
I didn't get to read any of the comment yet as I thought I'd better do a post, just a line before I finished Blogger had a fit of some sort as I was informed my post wasn't saved. I did lose the last bit but it was OK but I have to laeve it for today.
Anyway, thanks again and I'm looking forward to reading the comments etc (they had vanished too)
Vicki.
I started with a recipe blog too! Gluten Free Cooking School - www.glutenfreecookingschool.com
When I started it I didn't know anything about picking a niche that would make money, so the site doesn't have huge potential. However, we've been able to optimize it a lot after reading this site and Court's and the site is generating more money each month.
I finally got a chance to give back. Thanks Griz. I wrote a post here Easy Southern Style Recipes and let Vicki know that I sent some love her way.
I hope she does well with her site. I think she is off to a good start. She only needs to change the titles of the posts a little and she's probably all set.
daaarmm! 3rd :(
yes better luck next time !!
