The Keyword Crash Course

My regular readers are familiar with Courtney Tuttle and Mark Butler who run a teaching blog for Internet Marketing called the Keyword Academy. If you are new here or are one of the hundreds who have emailed me asking "where to start" or, more to the point, have asked me if I would be willing to tutor you directly on "how to make money online" then I strongly suggest you take a look at Court and Mark's Keyword Crash Course.

Both men are professional marketers, they teach the same basics as I do and offer one on one mentoring in this business. The Crash Course is designed for beginners just starting out and you can get your feet wet for a buck - a token introductory price for a month just to keep the tire kickers and time wasters away. If you are looking for real instruction on making a living online then join Court and Mark. If you are just looking for another "get rich quick" ebook or gimmick then they aren't for you.

If you found my site chances are you found it ranking high in Google for the term you searched for. This wasn't an accident - it is what I do and it is the keystone for making money online. How can you learn to dominate Google and the other search engines? You can start at the beginning of this blog and read or take the more focused approach offered by Court and Mark. Unfortunately I just don't have the time to offer personal guidance so please don't ask. I wouldn't recommend the Keyword Academy if I didn't endorse the fellows fully.

I would love to get some feedback from those of you who have already joined Court/Mark - good, bad or otherwise let us know.

For those of you interested in Court's affiliate program you can get more info here;

To the regular gang of MMO'ers - Thanks for the concerned emails and comments. Everything is fine, better than fine actually and I will be posting an update on the Griz blog (soon) explaining what I've been doing etc. Sorry for the absence but all is well and I should be back shortly...

Cheers,

Griz

Griz! Glad to hear (read) your voice! Has the ice broken up on the lake up there yet? lol.

I joined Mark and Courts Keyword Crash Course a little over a month ago. It is the best decision I ever made. I had already started some sites following your recommendations here, but was kind of wandering around, not knowing what to do next and what to place my priorities on. The Keyword Crash Course solved that problem for me. They give a step by step outline how to do pretty much exactly what you do here. They are a little more 'safe' from Google I think as they are somewhat more cautious in how they build their links and blogs, but other than that it is the same information as found here. A big plus is that a beginner gets access to 2 of the best IMers in the business! Mark and Court answer questions on their forum multiple times a day and also do some one-on-one coaching and regular webinars as well. If you are just getting into Internet Marketing and don't know where to start or are feeling overwhelmed, Mark and Courts Keyword Crash Course is the place to start.

Grizz,

Good to hear from you. Glad all is well up there in the Great White North!

Court's site (courtneytuttle.com) is the first site I stumbled on when I started down this path two years ago. Court has some great stuff as does the Keyword Academy has some great information as well.

Looking forward to your update.

Can't wait to hear what you've been up to Griz, even if you can't give all the details. You are the king.

I recently got my Adsense account disabled (I'm assuming for good). I stupidly incited some Indonesians and/or Chinese over at sponsoredreviews.com and they spammed the hell out of my ads. I was tired of buying reviews from people who ended up not being able to speak English and I made a somewhat snide remark about "Only English speakers need apply".. Oops.

Anyway, has anyone else been through this and were you able to get your Adsense account back? If not, what alternative types of monetization does anyone encourage?

Thanks guys. (Don't wanna let all that hard work I've put into several sites since I discovered Griz go to waste. Those are some good Internet assets!)

Man, it's good to hear from you again! I've been checking this site every day (even though I have you in my RSS reader...go figure). I'm taking a guess, but I believe you took Adsense off to see how the affiliate offers would perform given the buttload of traffic you're getting for the "make money" keyword set. Am I right? Or close?

I have been signed up with Court and Mark for a few months now and it is well worth it. They also include a forum and some other bonuses and this has made a huge difference as far as the value goes.

Highly recommended. Looking forward to more wisdom from Griz as well.....

Nice to see you posting once in a while :) I though so that you are making ridiculous money, that is why you are not posting. I also see you ranking #1 for "make money". Next one is "money" then?

btw. You misspelled one of the labels for this post (courtney tuutle).

I joined TKA a month or so ago, and it is well worth the money - there are tons of friendly people besides Mark & Court that share their stories and help people out.

The service that they provide is second to none, and the fact that they are willing to help people 1-on-1 makes it a great value. If you are a beginner, you can probably watch their videos and read a bit on the forums and have a solid idea of how to make money. Compare this to blindly going into it and experimenting a failing for weeks, months, or maybe even years until you realize the error of your ways.

I highly recommend it.

The Wedding Guru said...

Hey Griz,

I joined TKA because of you and its really boosted me in a lot of ways. First of all I get a lot of support from the guys who've been around a lot.
I learned some really valuable things here, the difference is they present it from the start. I still think they miss a lot of your wisdom but then again you miss a lot of theirs =D.

I started a really crappy blog before coming to your site and reading. THen I started even more crappy blogs which didnt even get ranked in Google.
After joining TKA I started 8 websites and in the first 5 days one of my sites got ranked in google for it a very competitive keyword at number 64 and has been holding steady there. BTW it also holds steady for some other good keywords, but I'm not getting a lot of traffic to it. Still working on my backlinks tbh. I haven't added adsense yet, per your AND C&T's instructions.

Another thing TKA gave me is a network. While I'm waiting for my pages to rank and working on my own site, I'm also writing articles for guys there and earning a little money from that.

So you wanted feedback, I hope that helps.

PS: My first blog, which was crap, I learned to make from that problogger crowd. I thank my lucky stars everyday I found you and didnt try any of their crappy affiliate stuff.

Hey Griz glad to have you back. At one moment I thought you left the blog ala Vic. I have been recommending your blog to some online friends. I have been building links to my blogs and I am starting to see everything improve.

Lorecee said...

Griz! We've missed you.

I joined TKA and recommend it highly. If you're new to SEO and make money online, it gives you a step-by-step program so you always know what you should be doing each day. The information is solid, very similar to what you teach here, but it's organized so you can look things up and get answers to your questions. (Occasionally I find what I'm looking for on your blog, but I consider it a lucky accident :-)

If you're advanced, or an advanced beginner, it's still worthwhile because Court and Mark have put together something similar to Linkvana for their members, only without the LV price tag. All the members are well versed in how to use the system and the quality control is good. That alone is worth the price of renewal many times over.

Good to see you are doing well, Griz. I figured your absence was just a way to make up for all those "extra" posts you made this winter :-)

I joined TKA and am glad I did. Mark and Court are first class all the way. From the step-by-step videos to all the bonuses they continue to add, I feel it is a great benefit no matter whether you are a beginner or expert. I plan on keeping my membership long term.

There is only one way you can NOT make money from their instruction and that is not to take any action. So unless you are just there to be an information addict, it's more than worth the price of admission. Mark and Court over deliver.

Glad to hear from you again! Can't wait to hear what you're up to now.

I too took your nudge a while back and joined TKA. I'd started messing with MMO after stumbling on your blogs a while back, and made some progress, but had to read every post whenever I wanted to find out something I'd "seen somewhere" :-D

TKA is great. Better than another program I signed up for earlier. Co'TKA'ers are for the most part great people, $1 signup for a month makes it well worth trying out for a month to see if you want to stick around (there's no week-by-week courses that keep you subscribing till week 8, etc.)

You have to work bloody hard though if you want to really get somewhere, which is what you've said too. Shame people don't always believe that. Well worth the money I'd say. I'm happily resubscribing.

I have been wondering when you would post again. I somehow never doubted that you would, but it was a long wait, Mr.

The Keyword Academy with Court and Mark is a lifesaver for me. I continue to stumble around a bit because I can't get my mind around the all the technical aspects of putting a decent blog platform together. I am slowly overcoming that problem though with some help.

It is clear as sunshine that Court and Mark know what they are doing and how to teach it well. Had I missed this opportunity to learn the business of MMO I might have passed the internet by as a viable way to make money for me.

I joined Courtney's program in 2008. At the time I had 2 sites that were getting about 10 visitors daily, on a good day.

Court, as part of the program, helped me set up a site the right way making sure it was optimized for search engine traffic. To this day I only update that site about once every 6-8 weeks yet the traffic remains steady.

And since I'm such a structure freak I really appreciated the organized manner in which the lessons were presented. I found myself looking forward to our weekly sessions. It was like being in a virtual classroom with Court as the teacher and me, the student, in sweat pants drinking beer. You can't beat that.

Now, whenever I set up a new site I always return to the lessons I learned from Court. They're all nicely laid out in a spreadsheet he helped me develop; I just follow the steps. Lather, rinse, repeat.

You have nothing to lose and lots to gain by signing up for his introductory offer. Pony up a buck and give it a try.

Hey grizz - what can I say - welcome home or something I guess! I joined kwa on day one cause I had all this traffic for "site build it scam" and people want simple and step by step - and you and Vic rock on SEO an make money but your step by step organisation is sadly lacking :-)

So I joined to become an affiliate mainly (which is turning out well) - but unadvertised extras would keep me there even if I actually had to pay the reasonable monthly fee.

If on the other hand you want to join a cult Site Build it is for you LMAO!

DennisJr said...

What I learned for a $1.00 took me a year of following You, Court & Vic. This is all available at the Keyword Academy (KWA). I am an analyst junkie and don’t spend my time wisely building niche sites to make money. If people do not have knowledge of SEO and where to start; this program is well worth it for a $1.00 to learn how to make money online.

They offer a formula for evaluating keywords using excel or any spreadsheet. I don’t know if this formula works because I have not done this long enough to look at my sites and see if my revenue follows what is stated in their formula. The formula does make sense based on their explanation of the formula and their conservative aproach. I tried setting up something of the same caliber when I started. My first target was a good keyword. However, I didn’t have the resources and the knowledge to get the work done. KWA tells you when to target a niche by evaluating the competition prior to starting out. This is a simple and quick evaluation and does not take you forever to analyze your competition and you don’t need to buy several tools. They offer a “members only” article directory with 30 unique class “A” I.P addresses (I checked).

In addition to the above they provide a plan of action from where to start. I truly believe they want to get you making money. They offer tutorials on setting up Adsense and Adsense channels along with stat counter. They provide a video on how to submit articles while filling out the resource box properly. KWA instructs its members how to set up wordpress correctly with a SEO plug-in, while making sure it is set to ping ( all of which is explained if people don’t know the terms just stated like ping).

KWA provides a forum where members who are making money can submit proof of online income to earn a badge that they are making money online and the advice they offer carry’s some weight based on their experience. The forum is set up to help people and no question is a stupid question with an understanding that all people should be treated with respect.

I don’t care for the push on using UAW to build back links. My concern is only because of the cost of the program. However, after I watched the tutorial on how they use it I can see how powerful it is and why they use it. I just don’t think I can afford to use it right now. I do believe people can make money with what they provide for a $1.00. I am still on the fence on to continue my subscription. It’s up to the boss (wife). If I start to make money with what they provided me I would definitely reinvest and stay.

If anyone is considering joining they need to know this involves WORK plain and simple as is outlined in the KWA 30 ,60 & 90 day accountability plan. If people are not into writing and producing they probably won’t benefit outside the $1.00 of information they will attain.

Wow..that's long.. No proof reading here

I see a similar effect, but only when selecting a permalink (i.e. the comments link) "Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet Site... Operation Aborted". This happens in 2 locations using 2 different versions of IE - FireFox is unaffected. Also, the main site address is unaffected, so this is fine:

but this fails:

Hi Grizzly,

Just wanted to confirm what a few other readers have been bringing to your attention.

Your blog now crashes in IE, which is likely a result of JavaScript or some embedded functionality, i.e. SiteMeter (if you use such a thing), or one of your new widgets.

As far as KWA goes, I'm leaning towards a membership. It's not necessarily the money (given the fair pricing), it's just whether or not I can commit my brain to more information.

As Raymond once said... it feels like there are two monkeys inside my head but only one banana.

Thanks for endorsing the service, it certainly takes away any concern.

Grizzly, is a page rank 4 domain worth anything?

Grizzly said...

Anon...

A domain's worth is dependent on the amount and more specifically the type of traffic a domain has. PR tends to impress other site owners but has little relevance to whether a site makes money.

I suppose it comes down to what you mean by worth? To me, if it doesn't make money it isn't worth much.

Hey Griz,

What do you think about leaving anchor text on inner pages of high pr sites. That seems to be the latest craze. People are creating profiles on high pr sites and leaving the anchor text in them.

There a lot of ppl at the warrior forum who live and die by these kind of links and have high praises for them. What do you think?

Frank Carr said...

Griz,

It looks like IE is choking on the Javascript code you have around the Google Analytics code at the very end of the page.

BK said...

@shon
your 1st mistake is spending time at the warrior forum. 99% Retards.. AND creating links on profile pages without posting in the forums will eventually be a loser,

The most common use of profile pages is to use the domain juice and hit the profile page with thousands of spam backlinks. Trust + Links = rank

Google: "Buy Viaga" spot 2 is a 1 week old profile page with 1000+ spam links.

Whatever G does to correct this probably will not be kind to those that rely on links from profile pages. Just a guess, actually if its the rage at the warrior forum I would put money on it.

Is TKA worth the money??? I can't say YES strongly enough. In fact, I joined shortly before they went to the monthly membership model that starts with $1 followed by (I think) $33 per month. I had to cough up nearly $600 to get started, and I STILL think I am getting more than my money's worth.

I also was led to them by you, Grizz, so thank you. Your content is priceless as well and I sincerely thank you for all you have done for me, and clearly loads of others too.

In my opinion, one of the benefits of TKA is the fact that you DO have to pay for it. As such, Court and Mark have a vested in making sure you're happy (especially now that they have the monthly recurring fee). If they blow you off they're going to lose money.

Grizz, on the other hand, is fully entitled to disappear for as long as he wants and I don't think anyone can really complain. After all, it's FREE information he's providing very generously. With that said, I am VERY happy to see you back again man!

And yes... this is a 'real' comment. :o) I can't believe people are on the fence about $1!...

Yea! Good to see you're still alive Grizz! We've been missing your posts!

Court and Mark's Academy is great. It's a more systematic approach than yours (haha), but the concepts are the same. The forums are a blast and the videos are very informative.

It's no suprise that most of the people are pretty green. As such, if you want more advanced topics like blog farms, support sites, etc, you won't find it.

Hey Griz I've been on your site a while and am now with TKA, but I have a question. I've got these blogger blogs and no matter what I do they won't get listed for their keyword. Does the Gster completely sandbox them for a month or what? =)

Noob said...

Something is wrong with LV. I have had two sites de indexed from adding links from them. Made sure I varied anchor text and added one link a week or one link every two weeks no sooner. LV used to work great but it seems as if the party is over after the last google shake up in the serps. Has any one else had problems with LV.

Lorecee said...

@Noob--no problems here with LV even though I blasted a brand new site with 10 of their links at once just before the PR update. I'm skeptical of any assumptions that inbound links to your site can get you in trouble unless you do hundreds of them in a day, BH style. I just find that the LV boost to my sites is always short lived.

Derrick said...

Was just coming here to ask why Griz removed LV from his "Need Backlinks" section, now it is just BS and CC.

Grizzly said...

Derrick, I removed it until I find out if all the sites have been de-indexed. I don't want to recommend new users if the system is no longer producing results.

Lorecee said...

None of the sites where my LV posts are located have been deindexed.

matt2257 said...

Hey Grizz,

Ive noticed that alot of the pingbacks I've recieved from BS are coming from blogs that are not indexed in google.

I emailed support, and they said that it happens and they were sorry and were going to go through and take out the deindexed ones.

My list so far is pretty long.

They also told me that they had no idea why their sites would get deindexed. And that they can't control everything... Does that sound fishy to you?

on another note: I emailed some other guy flogging BS, and he said that as long as you get a ping back then google sees the link...

Is that a bunch of crap..right? If you aren't on a blog that is indexed and the page you are on is not indexed, then it's useless right?

Sorry to be a little off-topic here, but I need some help. I made a new blog about a month ago and was on a good track, I have 15 GOOD backlinks, a couple hundred visitors, no Adsense up yet, I have good SEO(I think) and was ranked OK in google for a couple of terms, then, today, my site was just dropped from google. Gone, I do not rank for any of my keywords, not even my URL. But, if I type in "site:myurl.com" then it finds me. Yahoo still has me indexed and likes my site, but google is just gone :-( What did I do wrong?

Noob said...

Nice going with make money online with grizzly. I see it ranked at pos. 7 first page for the make money online keyword. Kudos

DinoEntrails said...

Hey Grizzly, sorry about my post earlier, I was freaking out about disappearing from google. I think I have figured it out, but i am still just as mad.

I have been SANDBOXED! NOOOOOO! Is all I have to say. I have been sandboxed though, even though I have plenty of good 'ol links, I was sandboxed. From what I can gather, there are 2 possible causes: I know nothing about HTML, i probably have several faulty links or have entered things wrong.

The more possible cause is my huge # of outbound links. I was really stupid and put like 15 outbound, affiliate links on one post...F****** stupid!

So...what can I do to fix it? From what I can see, I have removed the links, checked for bad links, and will continue trying to build links, but I do not know how long I will stick with it if I never see results. As far as I can tell, I may get out in a month, or maybe a year. Unless...Google sends me a link from their homepage lol! Do you think a high PR link would get me out? Say from a site trusted by google? One that dominates every keyword it targets? One that ranks #1 for "Make Money"?? Well, I do not know where i will ever find one of those :-)

Just kidding, but if anyone could send me a link to "http://make-money-for-kids.blogspot.com/" it would be AMAZING! Thanks, I will keep trying to get myself out of this sandbox, which is more like a box of quicksand!

Grizz,

Had a thought the other day and thought I'd run it past the usual suspects..they know who they are. I think most of us use thelink resource over at your other blog. I would imagine that is a fairly tie intensive exercise for you.

I was thinking about setting up a by invitation social networking site (kind of like Facebook) for webmasters to network with one another and get support. Do y'all think something like that would have value? I think this would alleviate you having to update the categories and so forth. Interested in your feedback.

Rock on :)

Griz,

I joined TKA over a month ago on your recommendation. You might want to read my sad story on my hub page, http://hubpages.com/hub/Internet--Idiot. Before TKA my 66 wp blogs were making pennies a day in AdSense income. After just applying a few of the techniques that I learne3d at TKA, I got my Adsense income up to a buck a day. One day was onver 5 bucks. Then, in early June, disaster struck - 95% of my blogs were hacked and received a warning from Google that my blogs contained malicious software when a keyword was clicked from a search engine.. My inocme dropped to near zero except for a non-wp website, http://www.capecod-beaches.com. I notiiied Hostgator security and they removed the malicious software from my blogs. I believe that the hackers used Filezilla to find my password. I was using the unencrypted version of Filezilla. Your password is available for any hackers to see. All by blogs used the same password and that is how they got into wp-admin. I now use Cyberduck in encrypted mode on my iMac for all file transfers/uploads to wp. Lesson learned number 1. Next, I used Malawarebytes' Anti-malaware on my pc to remove any malaware and it found a lot. To make wp more secure, I added the following plugins: sabre, limit-login-attempts, secure-wordpress, bad-behavior, semisure-login-reimagined. I alos added wordpress-automatic-upgrade plugin to get my blogs up to the lates wp version (2.8). I changed my wordpressw passwords. I still have more work to do like clearing over 1600 malicious posts from one blog containing product ads, but I think the hackers are out of luck now. Anyway Griz, I am eternally greatful for letting me know about TKA, but I have one thing I don't like about their system. They recommend using Unique Article Wizard for link building. I know I need to build links. I don't like to pay recurring charges and it costs $67 a month. It would be ok if I made over $67 a month, then I could afford it. How about Article Robot? Is that a good substitute for UAW? I found a free one called phpList.

Ok Grizz, I have a question. I know you may or may not be checking, but I figured one of the usual suspects (RT, Jason, Lissie, Lorcee, etc) may have some input.

I have a niche that I have climbed to the #1 entry on G for several of the keywords I was targeting. One of those keywords (according to G) should have about 2400 visits per month. I am seeing like 1 or 2 per day. Does G lie? Any ideas?

I think the content G displays should be enough to at least draw users in. I haven't faced this one before and thought maybe y'all might have some ideas.

Muchas Gracias

@Larry

1) Check rankings without personalized results.
2) Be sure that you are researching keywords with exact match not broad. From what I have been experiencing broad match gives ridiculously high query counts.

Online Income said...

@LarryG where those figures based on broad search - try looking at the exact search figures - that was my mistake and then the figures made sense. Also not everyone is going to click on the number 1 spot so figure on 40% of the exact search figures you might be in the ballpark.

Grizz, perhaps I am the one AND only to have a complaint about KA. To tell you the truth, I'm pretty frustrated about their response time to my support request. All my support requests have got to do with my subscription payments which have been double-charged (tripled, if I have more balance in my PayPal account). Although I understand it's none of their fault when it comes to the automated subscription, it's still no excuse to not get back to me even after a week or two's worth of e-mails.

They were never slacking this way until a couple of months ago. I even had to blog and b*tch about it before action was finally taken. It's happening again with my recent resubscribing. I should have gone with the saying once bitten twice shy.

I love the program, and Court and Mike (and you, of course!). But this subscription and response time problems are getting ridiculous!

If they need someone to hire to help with their support, I'm always available :D

Mark Butler said...

Hi Lorna -

Your access was restored several days ago; we just forgot to email you to let you know.

We've hired a full-time support person and we're in the process of getting him up to speed.

It might be worth noting that any over-charges were taken care of, and the only reason they happened in the first place was the fact that you accidentally subscribed multiple times to the program. New subscribers should know that there's nothing inherently broken about the subscription process.

Started doing some real serious keyword research for the long tail
Changed the position of Adsense on my recipe site and saw a 400% increase in the click through rate
Started watching the bachelorette...HELP!!

Lorna said...

Thanks for explaining it, Mark (and sorry for the name typo!). The overcharging was clearly a PayPal problem, as my transaction clearly indicated that I subscribed only once, yet the deduction kept being made automatically (as in every one minute). My issue has more to do with the lead time between my support request and the time it takes to resolve my problems (currently has nothing to do with overcharging).

I'm glad you and Court have taken steps to get an extra hand. I'll be checking with Eli and hopefully he can solve my problem in no time.

I just finished reading your Make Money Online Lessons. To tell you frankly I love your strategy, it's different and I sense its really workable.

Before I spend time to look into the Keyword Academy, I just want to test your system if its gonna working to me, since I started also applying it.

I just need a little help regarding duplication of content.

In my newly created blog, wherein I apply the good seo strategies, you've taught in your lessons.

Aside from my new initiative of adding a widget of blogger that allow to put an html code.

I used that widget to put my 3 articles at the bottom of my blog templates as what you did in "Project Payday".

Here's my newly created blog=>How To Make Money Fast

My concern now is about conten duplication.

Does it give a duplicate content to every new post I add?

Please let me know if it helps in my seo endeavor!

Hey grizz, i have a couple questions, but I doubt you will answer them, so hopefully someone smart reads these comments lol. W

ell, My statcounter has counted 4 exit links that are google adsense, but my adsense account had 0 earnings, 0 clicks, nothing. I have read your posts about smart pricing, but never heard of just not recording it period. The reason they are getting "smart priced" I think, is because all of the visitors that have clicked on an ad are from an ezine article I wrote a while back, although I have about 20 search engine visitors per day.

Also, how do you get backlinks for your site indexed? I have 30 good backlinks, but some are not indexed, so I tried using jetspinner to write a bunch of articles to get backlinks for my backlinks, with a little success.

And, in those little, crappy blogs that I make just to support my main adsense blogs, is it alright to use content that is scraped, then translated using google translate a couple times? It looks like someone who does not know english, but will google penalize me?

And lastly, how do you find niches? I have trouble finding niches...

Archie said...

About Adsense: Look inside your adsense account to see if you have allowed you site to display adsense. If you by accident turned that filter on and you did not include your site, clicks won't count.

About article directories: Articles on the strongest article directories tend to stay in the index on other directories they come and go. If you are really concerned about your articles staying in the index you can bookmark them. But you can go crazy trying to bookmark each article that is published.

About the blogs: If the sites you are building have a lot of giberish they might get deindexed if manually reviewed. Depending on the amount of gibberish they can look very black hat. You should try to have decent content on them to make then last in the serps. By the way, try the caffeinated content plug in if you are switching to the dark side of the force.

About Jetspinner: It rocks in my opinion! I use it a lot.

Also...as this article states...it sounds like you could benefit from some time over at the Keyword Academy. I haven't taken the courses, but I used to follow Court when he first started out (I got a lot of what they teach for free). It is worth your time and the couple of bucks they charge.

On a side note, just wanted to let y'all know I have seen my income increase by 600% over the same period last year. Heck, I made more in the first two (2) days of July than I did for the entire month of June last year.

This stuff works, you just have to keep at it.

Hey Dino, I'll throw you a bone.

2 possibilities:

1. You have your Adsense code screwed up on that site.

2. Google de-legitimized those clicks for some reason. (Most likely they are overly paranoid that they were invalid clicks.)

Just double check your code and then move on with your SEO. Don't get bogged down in minute details. You'll reach your income goals much quicker by not micro-managing stuff like that.

I joined a couple of weeks ago and just cancelled my subscription. The lessons are detailed and walk you through step by step and very easy to follow, even for a complete novice like myself. About half way through though I hit a wall when the version of wordpress and the all in one SEO pack being used in the video were outdated and different from what I had downloaded. I went to the forums and posted several times looking for help on what I figured would be an easy regarding canonical URL's as well as a couple of other differences. I could not get one response. In desperation I e-mailed Mark and Courtney, but I did not even receive a reply. At that point I figured if I could not get a response for something as simple as which button to click then what about down the road when problems become more complex, would I get support? Maybe I am expecting too much, but I would pay much, much more than $33 a month to get support in conjuction with the program offered by Courtney and Mark. As I stated earlier, the program is excellent and obviously many have gone through without the stumbling blocks I had, in the end I feel I need something a little more than what is being offered at the keyword academy though

Hey Grizz or anyone else out there that can help. I am in a pretty frustrating situation. I have a blogger blog and someone is stealing all of my posts word for word on their blog. The worst part is, they even end up knocking me out of the results if you search for specific sentences that appeared on my blog first. Is there any thing I can do? I even have their ip coming to my site and from a url like C:/blog_content_sources/ etc... So i know what they are doing and i can't stop them. Its upsetting to know after all my work, some jerk can steal my content and then knock me off the serps even though i had it first and was starting to get traffic. They are even copying my backlink structure. Everything I do they are doing and it's pissing me off! If you could throw me some pointers, thanks. Since the dude is from Canada, my biggest fear was that it might be you and I would have no hope of handling the situation after all the hard work. lol. Seriously though, any help you direct me towards would be highly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Frustrated

Frustrated said...

Oh, I'm so pissed off I can't remember if I mentioned that my site was a blogger blog or not. It is by the way and it seems the downside to all of this is that anyone can steal your posts from your blogger blog and you can't report them for copyright issues, even if you wrote stuff first.

JO said...

Frustrated, first put links into your posts that point back to your own site. Most people who scrap content take everything including the links and they won't change a thing. This way, the blog or website, along with any other scraper, will pass their juice back to you and that typically enough to out rank them.

You also need to make your blog more authoritative, i.e. get trade links with other bloggers, or whatever you need to do. This will make it harder for scrappers to outrank you and with the links in the posts you'll be less hurt by the duplicate content.

Get use to scrappers by the way, they're just another part of the internet. However, they can be your best friend by giving you links :)

Frustrated said...

Appreciate the response JO and thanks for the tips. However, I do have links in the first sentence of my posts. The scraper takes them out. I'm not sure if he's doing it automated or not. I filed a DMCA complaint though, so I am hoping that slows the guy down. I've seen other websites material stolen on his other blogs as well. I'm mean he blatently ripped them off. I've noticed on some of my posts, he posts the entire thing word for word, title for title and others he literally changes a 1 word in the first sentence and then adds like 2 new words to my title.

DinoEntrails said...

Instead of babbling on and spamming comments asking where grizz is, utilize the helpful community of very smart internet marketers that are here :-) Which is what I am doing.

I would like to know how you analyze your competition. Grizz has stated that finding the r/s ratio is how he does it, but how helpful is that? I have heard 2 ways of doing it: r/s ratio, and analyzing the front page of results. Which is better?

This would not be a problem, but I have found a keyword that has 15 million results, but the front page is mostly PR 0, 1s, and 2s, and 2 or 3 6 or 7s that are extremely unrelated, but mention the term once. The top 3 are all below a PR of 3, and the top result has 5 backlinks from related sites, and even a PR3 backlink, but the anchor text is "click here".

What do you guys think?

Tucson SEO said...

I look for a site that sounds like the one detailed above. Primarily I use a tool like SEO X-Ray in Firefox to check the number of backlinks coming into a page, and the anchor text used in those links (I think SEO Elite is more effective....but this is free). If the incoming links are weak I target it and see what happens.

I am a big fan of Grizz's approach to this...throw a whole bunch of crap at the wall and see what sticks :) You never can tell what will work till you try.

Tucson SEO said...

Have any of you invested in SEO Elite? If so, was the ROI worth it? I know Grizz uses it. I'd really like to know how well it works before I sink the money into.

Project Payday - A Legit Method to Make Money at Home

I have included Project Payday on my blog for all of my readers who write in asking if there are any legit online programs that they can use to make some quick money. Project Payday is not a get rich quick scheme - it is more like a work at home job. You don't need a blog or website as it involves getting paid to try out trial offers from online advertisers. There is work to this but you can realistically earn a couple of hundred dollars a day if you want to put in the effort.

I have written several posts about this and suggest you start with this one. Project Payday

Unfortunately Project Payday is only available to American users at this time.

CashCrate is another similar program (you get paid to take trial offers for products, services or completing online surveys etc.) Cashcrate does accept people world wide and they have a decent selection for Canadian and UK residents. If you are American then you will benefit the most as you have the most offers to choose from. Btw - it's free to join.

A Little Heart to Heart

If you have made it this far down the page then I assume you might just be serious about learning how to make a real sustainable living online - as opposed to the thousands of visitors I see daily looking for that "get rich quick" miracle that really doesn't happen without a winning lottery ticket.

You have probably figured out by now that you aren't going to find the answer in a $47 ebook or by following your favorite twit on twitter. The fact is many of you are still wondering how this plain free hosted Blogger blog dominates the rankings on the search engines - right? Did you find this site by typing in "make money online" in Google?

If you did then you are halfway to learning the secret to making money online - you need targeted traffic from the search engines (for any niche you pick) and once you have that, you can sell them what they are looking for. Sounds simple and on paper it is - actually dominating the search engines is the hard part. It takes time and you do need to understand keywords and anchor text links. You can spend time on this site and sift through my posts to learn this or you can do yourself a favor and pony up one buck and test drive Court's Keyword Academy Crash Course for a month and learn just why I rank number 1 in the search engines.

This isn't another waste of money or time - just an honest answer for the few of you willing to do the work and who really do want to make a long term sustainable living online. Read my blog from back to front or try a more focused approach with Court - either way you will not be disappointed.

Cheers
