Privacy Policy Update

You can see my Privacy Policy Update by following the link.

(note - this site (MMOFB) is not associated with Google.com or Google Adsense and you are encouraged to visit Google directly for more information.)

If you are using Adsense on your site then you must update your privacy policy by April 8, 2009. This update is in relation to the new changes enacted on Adsense in March of 2009. The new changes effect how Google collects information on your surfing habits using third party advertising vendors who leave cookies on your browsers - notably the Doubleclick DART Cookie.

The basic changes to Adsense revolve around the addition of Interest Based Advertising as opposed to the previous Placement Targeted Advertising. You can visit Google for a description of what Interest Based Advertising entails.

Your updated Privacy Policy should inform your users about the use of third party cookies on your sites and provide them with information regarding their opt out options should they wish to not have cookies placed on their browsers. See Opt Out of Behavioral Advertising

As an Adsense publisher you also have the option not to use Internet Based Advertising and may Opt out by following the instructions posted in Google Adsense Help. I do not recommend that you opt out but the choice is yours. These changes should help increase your CTR and CPC in the long run as you will become less susceptable to being smart priced. (ie. Conversions should increase as users are presented more advertisements based on their interests)

Update: I have discussed why I think Interest Based Ads should be tested before opting out in the following post on my other blog; Google's Interest Based Advertising.

It is still too early to give any conclusive feedback on how successful Internet Based Ads are but early results seem to be positive. Unfortunately March was a bit rocky for publishers as all the new changes to Adsense caused a number of glitches - several days saw CTR under-reported which Google admitted was an error on their part as they were not showing relevant ads. They maintained that it was only for a few hours but it lasted several days. You may have also experienced higher than normal pageviews for a few days.

Personally I have seen and am still experiencing strange CPC highs and lows as recently as yesterday. I'm not too concerned as I think it will take a little while to iron out all the bugs and caution everyone to just wait things out for the month of April before making any major changes to your Adsense sites. (ie. Don't concern yourself with smart price tweaking for the time being)

If anyone has seen definitive results either good or bad regarding Internet Based Ads please feel free to leave a comment.

FYI - I am on holidays with the kids at the moment (spring break here) so have been neglecting my comments but should be back to work next monday.

Cheers

Griz

I opted out as soon as they sent a letter but what you say makes sense will probably Opt in again to see what happens. By the was Griz mas using some of your seo tips and they seem to be working for the alarm site google gave me a pr1 and it has only a few links at least that is what my tool bar shows.

Have fun with your kids!
P.S Griz if you don't like the idea of the copy cat theme I have on the alarm site please let me know and I will change it or.

Have fun with the Kids Griz and thanks for the update. I think I have finally read your blogs front to back and a few times in the middle and I am starting to see results. I hope that this time next year I will be a full time IMer and on my way to golfing whenever I would like to:)

Thanks again,

Yep, Google is tweaking their adsense setup. I am seeing ups and downs also. What a drag fixing the policy on 200+ sites.

Good point, I already setup a privacy policy first on my money sites , even before I put up adsense. I actually don't have it running yet, so i might as well update my privacy policy ahead of time. which is based on your very boring privacy policy.

I've got all my WordPress sites updated. I'm still working through my HTML sites though. They could have been clearer about exactly what to say to be in compliance with their program even though national/local laws may vary.

Also, did you notice that the video unit Adsense advertising program is being canceled? I'm waiting for their other 'big winners' like Adsense for Feeds and Adsense for Domains to bite the dust shortly.

Hey Griz, this is kind of random, but what do you think about article "spinners"? I know Court reviewed one recently and said he endorsed it. Have you ever tried one out?

Thanks for the heads up on this Griz.

I still have a few sites where I overlooked the privacy policy completely... must get on to that and this is the perfect catalyst.

When did your PR return? I'm sure I was looking at PR0 last week.

Hi Griz,
I noticed a drop down in placements for your blog in G for the last 2 days.
is it just me or do you feel it in the traffic?

Thanks for the update,
It is really great knowing I can get good information about the newest happenings here. Thanks for all the help and have great holidays with the kids.

Hey Griz, Thanks for the update on the privacy policy, and sorry I haven't been commenting lately. I wonder if you opt out if you can opt back in at a later date?

I too have been seeing some weird cpc on my stock market niche blog. CPC has tanked but I still get the occasional $1.56 click though not as often as i used to.

My latest site just got totally deindexed, no idea why. Just a couple of posts with links from networks and the links were varied. Hopefully it is just a google glitch. Any advice you can give would be great!

On my other sites i noticed that when i input the url of a new post into google to see if it is indexed already it does not show as being indexed but my webstats show the post in google and traffic coming from it. So google on a whole is definitely glitching, I find.

Enjoy your holiday with the kids. keep teaching bloggers how to make money with adsense. And keep blogs from getting smart priced. Hope this post helps. Later Noob.

Well, it looks like quite a few of my sites increased in PR....most to 1s and one to 2...Does this mean we have 3 months to keep building backlinks to see if we will again increase in PR?

Thanks for the reminder about the Adsense privacy policy...haven't done it only because I pulled Adsense off of all my blogs due to low traffic.

I am using your link support page, thank you for that.

Hope you have a great spring break with the kids!

Thanks for taking the time to provide so much guidance and info for FREE! Wow!

Hello Griz,

I subscribe to the Writing World online newsletter and thought of letting you know that your site was mentioned in the latest newsletter. Well done!

The followings are extracted from the newsletter:

THE INQUIRING WRITER, SEO Writing - by Dawn Copeman
=================================================================

...

Ruth Gilbo has found a site that could be just what you were
looking for. She writes: "The best site on the web today for
learning about maximizing your site via SEO is 'Make Money On Line
for Beginners'. It offers free advice on the how to's, the why's
and the what not to do's. [The site owner] Bear starts you from
the beginning with his Lessons 1 - 5 and has an ongoing blog that
you can subscribe to.

"Every time something new is on the blog (on average 3 times a
week), he sends it out. And, he shows you how to do SEO without
trying to sell you any downloads, e-books or programs. As a matter
of fact, he warns you about those that do give you a teaser, then
advertise their product. With Bear there's nothing to buy - he
shows you how to obtain a free site and how to maximize that site
for traffic. Just Google 'Make Money on Line for Beginners,' and
you will get to his site.

"Once there, scroll down to Lessons 1 through 5 on the right
margin. Start there, because he started the site about 3 years ago,
and his current blogs are really for those who have been following
him and are up to speed. All his blogs since the beginning are
there, on the front page, according to date, so you can follow
along at your own pace. Bear will also answer your emails, if you
have questions about the lessons. The lessons are succinct and he
really does aim them at beginners."

Hey Grizz, I'm new and I'm not new to everything. I recently got back into the whole search engine thing after like 8 years. Everything changed. I've been reading you and Vic. It took me about a month or two of reading to start seeing the big picture as far as getting traffic. I'm curious though, as to how would someone with no access to high PR sites, rank for keywords? I know that everyone social bookmarks, but recently heard(unsure about truth) that G no longer visits the area of scuttle sites where they would find a user's bookmarks. Apparently the key is to find dofollow anchored links right? Is this improbable without using software like BMD to auto submit links? Is BMD still even worth it? The only thing I seem to be sure about is dofollow article submission, but it would take of articles to rank for certain words right? Is there a guestimate as to how many links you would have to get in a certain amount of time before G throws up a red flag? I only ask because you must know something as you have hundreds of blogs to test and see these things.

Mr. Exec said...

Oh, I forgot, I thought I'd comment on a statistic from personal experience. I know you said blogger blogs are treated differently. They are. Here's an example for anyone that might be interested:

I have two .coms, one has minimum crawl rate of 1 the other has a rate of 5. This is for minimum only crawl rate. The Blogger blog is a few days to a week old and the minimum crawl rate is nearly tripple the others.

Noob said...

Hey Grizz,

remember the site I mentioned was deindexed in an earlier comment. I made some changes, might have been guilty of keyword stuffing I think. But G has never slapped me before for this, I guess there is a first time for everything, but I digress.

I checked the site to see if it had been reindexed, it had not. But since being deindexed in google, the site has moved from pr0 to pr1. i'm like wtf? How can a deindexed blog gain in pr, talk about kicking a guy when he's down.

If you have any ideas I am all ears. I am Thinking of toning down the keyword along all the entire site and adding a privacy policy then submitting a few articles to ezinearticles and goarticles.

BTW you should be seeing some traffic on how to get a site indexed. And how to get a blog reindexed and why was my site deindexed.

Enjoy the holiday and remember to take lots of pictures.

Joomla Template Bear said...

Regarding de-indexing :-

@Al, your site is not deindexed - I can see pages in Google - you just aren't ranking for anything - mortgages are a tricky topic - I have a mortgage site and after a year it gets 10 visitors per day - ageneral interest site that has been live for a similar period of time gets 900 per day...

The mortgage site gets $1-$3 clicks (not every day) - the fgeneral interest site gets 5c - 10c clicks - the food site does A LOT better in terms of how much it makes me.

If you want to check if the site is deindexed do a search for the domain name - i.e. in Al's case search google for:

http://www.selfcertificatemortgagefinance.com

If it were deindexed you would not see any pages from the site.

Hmmmmm my understanding of PR was that google updates it constantly - different sites at different times - it could change any day of the year - however, I have noticed a big page rank shift upwards across all my sites in the past few days... Love to know your thoughts on this Griz.

RT Cunningham said...

PR updates are definitely in progress. It's too bad they decided to do a dance at the same time, shuffling the SERPS. This is the first time I've seen all of my page 1 stuff disappear and get my pages bumped up at the same time. It's weird. Oh well, I'm sure it will straighten out in a few days. Amazingly enough, my traffic is horrible and yet I'm still making about the same amount due to the Yahoo traffic clicking. Maybe I never got many clicks from the Google traffic in the first place. Makes you kinda go hmmm....

The point I'm trying to make folks, is that this month (April) is not a good time to be examining your SEO stuff. Not until Google stops playing with it anyway.

Thanks for the update, Grizz - I was wondering why my Adsense earnings had taken a huge nosedive recently... I hadn't heard a thing about this until now.

This new system sounds good for people who get a lot of social traffic and bad for everyone else. I opted out as soon as I read this post, and honestly I'm a bit surprised that you're recommending against it - these new changes seem to go against everything you've taught us about niche marketing. Why bother trying to get targeted search traffic if all of our visitors are just going to see irrelevant ads anyway? Thanks, but no thanks - I'm heading for the hills on this one. Let me know how it turns out...

By the way - you're now the number 1 result for "make money online", at least from my data center. Congratulations - you definitely deserve to be there.

Excellent post, as usual.

I think I'm missing something here, and I hope you can straighten me out. The interest-based advertising by G concerns me, and this is why. CPC will be based to some degree on how targeted the traffic is for the Ad. So, if the Ad is targeted to the user and not the site (keyword) won't we see a drop in CPC (even if we see a higher CTR) when traffic visiting a "Make Money Online" site clicks an Ad for "Blue Widgets" (which is now served by AdSense because that visitor has a Blue Widget fetish)instead of an Ad that is targeted to the "Make Money Online" niche?

I have always taken your post http://makemoneyforbeginners.blogspot.com/2008/04/optimization-tips-for-adsense.html to heart as a definitive explanation on optimization. Especially where you talk about the CPC advantage that site B has over site A. I guess that is where my confusion lies, to some degree.

Thanks in advance

Dave H said...

I'm seeing lows. Almost exclusively. My page impressions seem to be normal but earnings are absolutely in the toilet. It isn't smart pricing, either, as one of the first sites I ever setup for niche marketing (very low payout keyword) gets higher than average clicks now and again (I'm not stuck getting one cent clicks or anything). It just seems like an overall decrease in earnings to the tune of almost 30-60% (if the trend continues this month).

In addition, I've been tracking a couple of my sites for placement and they've been bouncing around like crazy. From say 31 to 200 to 51 to 380. Nothing seems to be making any sense right now.

Confused and a little worried. I'm on borrowed time at my job and was really hoping to make some serious inroads over the next few months with MMO.

OK I am bermused and delighted all at the same time - so far 6 April my time i have made 50% of what I made in all of March if I keep on with the average for the first 5 days 4 hours of the month I will be looking at April earning 2.5times the amount I earned in March. The March figure had been consistent for the last 4 months

I haven't had any significant increase in CLR or traffic but my eCPM has shot up 2.5% since April 1 - it went up on the first and has stayed there - which makes me think that its not just a statistical blip - is it just me - does anyone else have a similar pattern?
I dont think I was smart priced before cause I always got $1/$2 clicks from time to time - so I can't have been smart priced - could I have been? I did ban one site which was an old contest site from last year but thats the only significant change

Grizzly said...

Hi Lis,

Adsense has been volatile for the better part of a month while (I assume) all the changes to the new algorithm are being tested. eCPM and CTR have been jumping up and down wildly with the results usually higher for ecpm but drastically reduced for ctr on some days. I suspect you are just seeing the new program being put in place and weren't smart priced before. As I mentioned - don't make any changes to your accounts until the new system has been put in place and running for a while. There are bugs and there will be more...

Stephen Cronin said...

Joomla Bear,

PageRank updates constantly, but when you see PR (through a PR checker website or toolbar), you aren't seeing your real PR, you're only seeing toolbar PR. Google exports real PR to toolbar OPR roughly once every 3 months.

So there's just been an update and you'll be seeing the same amount of green bar for the next 3 months or so, even if your real PR goes up or down.

Griz a couple of things that are not related to this adsense post, but there's no other place to comment.

First, fyi: the sites linking from your new ad at the top right column are being detected as malicious scripts by my anti-virus prog.

Second: In an attempt to find other places for backlinks I've looked into some of the options that you've got on your right hand side links column, specifically Linkvana & Backlink Solutions. I've noticed that their backlink structure is very poor and they do not rank for any of the keywords that you would assume they would be targeting. Which begs the question, If they are efficient in providing links why can't they do so for themselves?

Your insight on this would be appreciated as well as any personal recommendations outside of your other sites links page or contentconnect.

thanks,

Grizzly said...

Thanks Matt - just doing a little testing and you saved me some work.

As for BS - the owners really don't have a handle on how to run the network and know very little about SEO themselves. They basically bought a bunch of sites and set up a network. Code monkeys but not marketers. Linkvana is run by a couple of affiliate marketers who promote their products with lists and wso's. They set up a more knowledgeable seo system but don't spend much time with it as they learned pretty quickly that these systems are full of noobs. Any system is only as good as the people using it and when a bunch of noobs who don't understand proper linking start posting every link using the same keyword to the same url over and over again it screws everything up.

RT's connectcontent is the only system being used by people who know how to link and it is monitored by RT who knows seo. It is by far the best and I am trying to get more people involved as it needs more participants in order to benefit everyone the most.

LV and BS can still be used for agricultural purposes in order to get sites off the ground faster but not recommended for money sites.

So I read your posts picked some keywords, and I'm about to set up a blog. So I checked all your tags at least, haven't read everything yet, but I intend to when I get the chance... But Can you please do a post in setting up the blogger page when you get the chance? Do you use blogger templates? DO you start from fresh? Do you use something like B-themes.blogspot? or btemplates dot com?
If so can you give a source?
If Not, what do you do when creating a blog? I see this make money online and your other MMO blog and the reactolite spectacles example all seem to have their own design or at least are different from the main ones provided by blogger...

Also a suggestion if you ever feel like it...
Download cam studio free and record the screen while setting up a blog, and create a cool video series. It would probably be a lot easier to SHOW us what you do then put it into words... and no cost that I am aware of other then download of software and upload time of video to show us.

Hey Grizz, just curious on what you think about using feedburner and RSS feeds for adsense. How does it effect your other ads? You said in one of your blogs that if you get smart priced on one blog, the rest of your blogs will suffer. If you use adsense in feeds is this also true? I want to submit my RSS feeds to lots of directories, but have it set up with adsense, and I'm a little concerned about over submitting to lower quality feed directories.

Not only is there a concern about using the adsense feeds at all, but then you have to worry about which rss directories you submit to, no?

Perhaps just submitting the original blogger feed and NOT forwarding blogger's feed to the ffeed burner, and then just using feed burner's subscibre to email, and only submitting to a few top relevent feed directories?

After 128 days (32 days without SEO optimization + 96 days using your system) , I finally reached $105.56 (end of March). And I only put Adsense on ONE of my blog. Believe it or not, it only took just ONE blog to reach the target. I owe you one, Grizz.

Thank you very much for your kind heart.

Hi again griz. I just think it is good to tell you that I am one of the few lucky ones who got rid of the A-list bull**** by finding your blog. It was not too long ago that I started searching for how to make a few extra bucks and somehow I found Yaros crapblog. I got overwhelmed of all the money he was waving around that he claims to make. Needless to say I subscribed to his news letter.

Well after maybe two weeks I realised that he was not going to give me any info that I was looking for, if I didn't pay him some arbitrary amount of 497 dollars through paypal.

I started searching again and found this nifty blogger blog :) Maybe this time I used the keywords "make money online" instead of the ones I used to get to Yaros crap mastermind. I have to say that it was your blog description that made me read on.

After reading on you, vic, courtney, lissie etc. I came to realize that the money that Yaro was waving around was just pocket change compared to what can actually be made. Yaro made less in a three months than you made in two weeks. And all that came from selling his crap to some hopeless penniless person who desperately was looking a way to make money for food. And of course selling his advertisments. And did I mention that he has to write a blog post every day to keep the readers :D But you know all this...

You make the money the right way, and you teach how to make money the right way. You are like the Robin Hood of make money online. Take from the advertisers and give to the... well yourself :D

I have been around for such a short time that I have not made a cent using adsense, I am still fighting for traffic and starting new niche blogs. But now I am certain that I will make some money at some, because I have a system. I have a part of what you have been preaching here, on howtomakemoneyonlinegrizzly.com and on your today.com blog.

If I make my first adsense cheque before the end of this summer I am satisfied. If it takes to the end of this year I am ok with that. At least I didn't spend 500 dollars on some crap that had no potential.

Thank you for all the priceless stuff you write here! Hopefully you will never go "a-list" and start selling this :)

Hi once again Griz. :)

If I would be doing an attempt like the one you did with Asiah with a recent celebrity, how fast could I start building links without fearing the sandbox? I mean this thing is really hot right now and I propably should get things going really fast to beat the competition.

I hate having to change all that shit!! I understand we have to do what we have to do but NOBODY reads the friggen privacy policy. No one gives two shits about it yet I have to go to a zillion blogs and change them up. I'm done ranting and I feel better now. And yes, Grizz IS a guru...a good guru!

Privacy policies are only CMA documents. It's the only reason companies require them. They're so afraid of being sued by some dweeb who gets a cookie installed on their computer.

Ryna said...

a pain in the you know what to change, but probably worth it if G ever tries to crack down on you. although it is not likely they will be checking everyone's privacy policy... maybe Griz and other people who make lots of money, but not us smaller guys.

Griz, I know you're always one for experimenting (a quality that I truly appreciate), but I do have one question: Has the "crap-flogging" begun? LOL

I have the same question as PS. How soon can we start adding links to a new blog that is say two weeks old. And what kind of links are acceptable.

thechettybear said...

Griz,

I have a little short term money maker that I just started yesterday and I am desperately looking for links to it. I'm not sure exactly if Adsense is gonna work very well for monetization but the traffic potential is through the roof for this over the next several months at least.

The problem is that I don't feel extremely comfortable asking lots of people to give me links because I don't wanna give the niche away so I'm trying to ask people that I know I can trust.

Any ideas?

Hoping things are going well for you. Haven't see a post on any of your sites in a while. Someone else mentioned the adsense missing from this blog and yes, it is. lol I just realized that. Guess you can tell I'm not one of your regular ad clickers. Still one of your admirers though. Hope you haven't "retired" or anything crazy like that - I was just getting caught up on all the posts...

Hey Grizz - What's going on? Hope you're doing OK.

Remember that "hot topic blog" I mentioned about a week ago in a comment? Well, I just wanted to let you know that it's going amazing well - I currently rank on page 2 of Google for the main keyword and a lot better than that for a ton of long tails, and hopefully on my way up from there. And that's ALL BECAUSE OF YOU, man - I wouldn't be there right now if I hadn't found your blog a long time ago while searching for "how to increase adsense earnings", read the first paragraph, became totally overwhelmed and said "screw this" and clicked on one of your ads, gave up for awhile, and then eventually made my way back here to find out just what it was that you were talking about and actually started to read and learn the stuff you're teaching people here.

So I guess that's my way of saying thanks for all of the great information you provide. Sorry for my less-than-elegant writing style - obviously I'm not much of a writer.

By the way, I LOVE your new "pimping" ad! LOL

Take care, dude...

Hi Grizzly,

How are doing?
I didn't see your adsense ads for more than a week. What's happen?

I has been long as your loyal reader and try to put in action - make a couple blogger sites and wordpress as well. I satisfied that some of my keywords rank well and getting traffic.

Only, I find hard to get links from high PR sites in same niche with decent price.

Griz,
Did you get Adsense Account Banned ??? They are really cracking down hard as I know of some other big sites who have been forced to take their Ads down by Google.

But there are many other alternatives to monetize a Site and I myself am looking into this.

I think I have learned that relying solely on Adsense for Earnings is really not prudent. Google just has way too much power to decide who gets the axe and who doesn't !! And believe me they are banning people without provocation or any concrete evidence whatsoever that there has been a violation of TOS !! I have several associates where this has been the case.

Diversification of Internet Income is Key !

Hey there Grizz. I love your blog, it's a great resource for anyone looking to make some money blogging. I have read all of your posts and they have greatly helped me increase my adsense income. That said I have a quick question for you.. I was was wondering why you recently removed all the adsense ads from your site? Did you have a problem with adsense or was it by choice?

cashcrate said...

@dennis jr.

Yes I have noticed this, it happens because they count each page as a different page rank, but say that page has no traffic it will be like the home pages rank, this is from my experience anyways.

She / He just posted another copycat. I am so confused!

Brix said...

Please stop the speculations.

Griz is way too good and too smart to be banned from Adsense...and he did mention that it's a good time for some testing.

Don't forget that SEO and Adsense are literally in his veins...and the Adsense earnings from this MMOFB blog is just a little piece of his whole Adsense earnings from all his other sites which, of course, are not mentioned in public.

Just to enlighten things a bit, the makemoneyonlinegrizzly blog still have Adsense on them...which obviously means that Griz's Adsense account is ok.

Someday soon, after all this testing is done, Griz is gonna come out with new lessons for all of us.

...now on to implementing what he's been teaching us.

cheers guys.

Did anyone notice a change in there rankings in the last 24 hours? I noticed a major drop on several sites of mine for the targeted keywords. At first I thought it was the sandbox but now I am think its more than that. People on some forums are starting to see their sites drop in rankings as well. Did Google change something? Also for my main site I noticed that the top ten lost 6 sites and gained 6 news ones. Only the top 4 ranking sites for the main keyword didnt move. Strange. It could be just me but this is scary since I went from making money to not having any traffic over night:(

Phillip said...

@Jason Z

For the past week my rankings have been jumping up and down. One site ranking #5 suddenly dropped to 65# and now it is #3. So there is some tweaking happening at google. Also one site which was ranking 150 or something, sudddenly jumped to 25.

Make Money Online W/ The Chetty Bear said...

A site that I have actually just moved from #9 to #1 overnight for one of its main keywords. Think is most likely not due to the several new backlinks I recently add... I actually doubt it will stay there but there is clearly something going on with Google.

Hello Grizzly,

I’m new to your blog, well, I should say new to commenting (I have been too busy reading everything).

Great content, and many thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge.

It seems I have finished just in time for some important testing on your end but I have a question...

Although I truly appreciate the need for testing, why did you decide to do it with such a conservative ( boring ;-) ) post on your home page?

I mean, why not leave something more relevant on your main page to ensure your rankings don’t suffer.

I know you likely have a scientific answer for this, and I believe it’s important to understand your methodology here.

Hope you find time to answer.

One more thing… I really need to congratulate you on your people skills. No matter how resistant (or worse, unprofessional/rude) certain people can be, you have the rare skill of keeping your cool and diplomatically showing them what’s what. In short, you’re a man who walks his talk, and graciously to boot.

Thanks again!

Joseph

You have a great blog here man. And I love the fact that it's so simple, yet when I searched Google, it's the first result I got.

It just goes to show that you don't need a fancy layout or anything of the sort if you know what you're doing.

Keep up the great work, and have fun with the kids!

Anonymous said...

Grizz do you use link vana? Do you recommend it?

DinoEntrails said...

I have started a blog on making money for kids and teens, but I can not get it indexed. I have not made any articles yet, but have been getting links from Yahoo Answers, and other blogs. How do you get sites indexed fast? Here is the link:

http://make-money-for-kids.blogspot.com/

I also have trouble finding a niche. I can not find a good niche. I know all of the keyword tools, and how to look at sites and evaluate their keywords and source and PR, but I do not really have a hobby that I know a lot about or anything. How do you find good, new niches? I do not know what it is, but I just can not find a niche that I am happy with. What are some examples of good niches?

Please help...thanks

In my experience, your site will get indexed faster if you write some articles. The search engine needs to know what you are about to index you.

Project Payday - A Legit Method to Make Money at Home

I have included Project Payday on my blog for all of my readers who write in asking if there are any legit online programs that they can use to make some quick money. Project Payday is not a get rich quick scheme - it is more like a work at home job. You don't need a blog or website as it involves getting paid to try out trial offers from online advertisers. There is work to this but you can realistically earn a couple of hundred dollars a day if you want to put in the effort.

I have written several posts about this and suggest you start with this one. Project Payday

Unfortunately Project Payday is only available to American users at this time.

CashCrate is another similar program (you get paid to take trial offers for products, services or completing online surveys etc.) Cashcrate does accept people world wide and they have a decent selection for Canadian and UK residents. If you are American then you will benefit the most as you have the most offers to choose from. Btw - it's free to join.

A Little Heart to Heart

If you have made it this far down the page then I assume you might just be serious about learning how to make a real sustainable living online - as opposed to the thousands of visitors I see daily looking for that "get rich quick" miracle that really doesn't happen without a winning lottery ticket.

You have probably figured out by now that you aren't going to find the answer in a $47 ebook or by following your favorite twit on twitter. The fact is many of you are still wondering how this plain free hosted Blogger blog dominates the rankings on the search engines - right? Did you find this site by typing in "make money online" in Google?

If you did then you are halfway to learning the secret to making money online - you need targeted traffic from the search engines (for any niche you pick) and once you have that, you can sell them what they are looking for. Sounds simple and on paper it is - actually dominating the search engines is the hard part. It takes time and you do need to understand keywords and anchor text links. You can spend time on this site and sift through my posts to learn this or you can do yourself a favor and pony up one buck and test drive Court's Keyword Academy Crash Course for a month and learn just why I rank number 1 in the search engines.

This isn't another waste of money or time - just an honest answer for the few of you willing to do the work and who really do want to make a long term sustainable living online. Read my blog from back to front or try a more focused approach with Court - either way you will not be disappointed.

Cheers

Griz
