Hey folks,
I think it's time to put in an appearance and quell some of the concerns I've been reading in my emails and elsewhere. Court's latest post Can You Increase Blog Traffic without Posting has an interesting thread going in the comments that reads something like this:
"Where the heck did Court, Vic and Griz disappear too?"
Court's post answers his absence and in my case the answer is quite simple - the summer is my busiest time at the Lodge and as my largest income producer and biggest investment I have little choice but to concentrate on it. The fact that my online appearances have slowed at the same time as Vic and Court's is simply a coincidence and not planned. Vic has posted a new video in which he explains his feelings towards Blogger Unleashed called My Status Here.
I have long said beware of chasing social traffic. Yes it has some benefits - backlinks being first among them but links aside it is a time wasting activity if you are trying to make money online. Vic's video sums this up better than anything I can say. Blogger Unleashed has over 3000 RSS subscribers and as Vic states he makes peanuts from the site. If you have watched the video and read the comments then you'll know that Vic is contemplating shutting the site down. Quite simply he is tired of the criticism he receives from people looking to bait him and the aggravation he has incurred as a result of giving out too much info - people reporting his sites as spam after showing others his methods. Considering he doesn't charge a cent for the info he shares it's not hard to understand how the backlash has given him pause to stop.
In this regard I am no different. I have been burned a number of times as well for showing people example sites only to have some jerk report them. The fall of Backlink Solutions still bothers me as it was a great resource for short term campaigns that generated a considerable amount of money for me. I had used it successfully for over a year and no sooner did I open my mouth about it in the forum and presto - Google slapped it out of existence. Coincidence? Perhaps. Then again perhaps not and I am less inclined to give away my little secrets now. This more than anything has me in a bit of a bind. I have no problem helping others out but I don't think I can be as open about what I do anymore. The irony about free information is that anyone can get it and sabotage it. If you pay for information and it works you aren't likely to tell others - including Google.
I'm not going to whine about this though. I knew the possible consequences before divulging my tactics and accept the results. The end result is that this is an Adsense blog and I continue to increase my income on this blog monthly. I could have posted fluff and still built this site to where it is now but without readers. I have chosen to write useful content simply because it is easier and more rewarding than writing about crap and the fact that I have developed a readership has been a pleasant bonus although not in a monetary way. I am not prepared to get stung anymore though and haven't quite figured out how to give out the results of my experiments without the proof. I had a comment once that remarked about me being a show off. This kind of took me back as I am anything but. I show results in order to back up my assertions - why do what I say if you don't know it works? I think from here on in my readers will have to accept more on faith than by example. My record should speak for itself and in any event I don't charge for the info. Either I am telling the truth or I'm just trying to get people to waste their time.
Many bloggers have described me as an Adsense blogger primarily because I have used Adsense as the main form of monetization on this site and in examples I have talked about. The fact is that only a small handful of my sites are true Adsense sites. I have promoted Adsense more than Affiliate Sales and Lead Generation simply because it is easier for beginners to make money with and more importantly it is more consistent in monthly earnings. Other forms of monetization can and do make larger sums of money on any given month but they lack the consistency of Adsense. I had planned on a long series of step by step Lead Generation posts that I've since shelved simply because I can't do it properly unless I use some sites I have built for this purpose. Unfortunately the days of revealing my sites are over.
There is another issue that has me severely bogged down - my email. I have thousands of un-answered emails in my inbox. I can't keep up and feel quite guilty and distressed about it. The answers for 90% of the emails are in my posts - if you are waiting for a response please start reading the posts. I don't have the time to keep answering the same questions over and over again. The remainder of the emails are from friends I have met looking for help with their sites - reviews, joint ventures and new projects that they have asked me to join in on. These are the most time consuming and I am now realizing that I don't have the time to do all that has been requested. There are several projects on hold that I really am interested in as they will make me money but I keep delaying them to help others whose projects have little value for me but will help others make money. I have to learn to start saying no. If I do please don't take it personal. I just need to concentrate on some of my stuff for the time being. Doing so will have benefits for the rest of you as it will give me new material for this blog that you can all use down the line.
Anyhow, that's where I am at right now. I haven't disappeared - just inundated with the side of social blogging that most of you are unaware of - it sucks up so much of your time that posting new content becomes a liability. A new post means hundreds of new emails and comments to tend to. This is great until you reach the point that you can't keep up. Something to think about if you are still trying to become the next A Lister. Ever wonder why they eventually just post fluff or use guest posters?
Just so I haven't wasted your time completely you might want to check out Google's latest tool for keyword research; Google Insights for Search which is still in Beta but looks really promising. This tool greatly expands on the Trends theme and is ideal for local niches. If you are trying to find the hottest keywords then play around with this.
Also Frank has a great post on some Adsense Optimization Tips over on OpTempo you should read.
Cheers,
Griz

Project Payday - A Legit Method to Make Money at Home
I have included Project Payday on my blog for all of my readers who write in asking if there are any legit online programs that they can use to make some quick money. Project Payday is not a get rich quick scheme - it is more like a work at home job. You don't need a blog or website as it involves getting paid to try out trial offers from online advertisers. There is work to this but you can realistically earn a couple of hundred dollars a day if you want to put in the effort.
I have written several posts about this and suggest you start with this one. Project Payday
Unfortunately Project Payday is only available to American and Canadian users at this time. Oh and it is free.
Note - After signing up take advantage of the Fast First Training link - you can learn how the IFW system works while making yourself a quick $50.00.

I cannot stop thinking that the BS fall was a follow of the fact that you've spoken about it. I remember myself commenting somewhere that I was writing paid posts and my blogs still had a good PR, only to see in a couple of days that the PR went away. I still wonder what would have happened if I just kept my mouth shut.
Saying no is tough but necessary. Only stupid people could get upset because of a "no". Friends would always understand.
Since I know you guys are the real thing and are really making money on niches other than MMO I don't need to see any example sites. That any of you are nice enough to share any of this REAL information at all is priceless. Thank you!
If you could still use hypothetical examples though, that would be great. They really help me out.
Again, thank you for all that you do! It really means a lot to those of us that are newer to actually making money online (as opposed to just reading about making money online).
Good to see you back in action Griz. I for one don't think you should show anyone your sites--too much liability there.
But if you're willing to still shell out your secrets I'm sure we could do without examples =)
MJ
Thanks for the mention Griz!
I've got a few sites that I've made public as essentially proof-of-concept/demo sites or they're my old content sites. And OpTempo operates as a flagship blog and has become quite profitable with a few MMO posts a month with many EPN search traffic targeted product review and buying guide posts in between. But I do have many more that operate well under the radar that are either Adsense or EPN blogs or mini-sites and I won't be mentioning them!
Griz,
That really stinks that there are such vindictive people in the world.
I really value the information that you provide here and will miss your in depth tutorials. I only wish I had more time to put it all into action.
I have been somewhat mia this summer also. I plan to jump back in when the kids go back to school.
I understand why you don't want to show any sites no more. It's one thing if you know you are gonna help, but completely other when one rotten apple can destroy not only that site, but the whole pleasure of the process.
I guess we will lose another good source of information and experience, just like with BU.
But I must say I got everything I need from you, Vic and Court actually. The details I will figure out by myself. If I can't do that by myself, then I'm not cut for this business. And that applies for everyone me thinks.
Cheers Griz
Grizzly, in my opinion you've given enough for free and you've proved your status. You really should charge whenever someone emails you for help. If they don't want to pay then they don't get any help. Personally I won't work for nothing, everything I do is chargeable by the hour. I think you should adopt the same method and stop giving people help for free because your knowledge is worth it.
The same goes for Vic, he should charge too. You guys have built your name now it's time to reap the rewards.
Cheers,
Duane.
Griz,
I don't blame you or Vic feeling the way you do. It's incredible the people out there who would rather try and ruin someone else than focus on making themselves better.
I have been following you, Vic, and Court for some time, the amount of information you guys provide for free has been incredible.
All three of you have proven yourselves to be trustworthy and have great knowledge on making money online.
I would suggest all three of you start a membership site together. Charging for your knowledge will keep all the jerks out and will benefit those who are willing to make an investment in their online business.
Regards
Thanks Simonne.
I sort of figured that friends like you would understand my position. It sucks but I probably should have listened when Terry and others were telling me to keep some things quiet. Anyway - the show will go on, just a bit more cautiously though. Hope all is well and great hearing from you.
Joe,
You're welcome and hypothetical examples will work in most cases.
The unfortunate thing is that this won't work for actual programs or techniques I have found that are a little on the shady side. There are times when these little advantages work extremely well at keeping you one step ahead of the competition but instead of broadcasting them I'll be forced to pass them along in emails to those I have come to know well.
This smacks of clique-ism (new word?) and something I hate to take part in. This blog was always meant to help everyone who needed it and the thought of leaving people out of the loop doesn't sit well but I don't want to lose any more programs that work.
I appreciate your support Joe and thanks.
MJ,
Thanks for your support as well. I just have to ask... your blog theme? Just which blogspot blogger are you paying homage too? Lol. And I thought my theme was as ugly as you could get... well done!
Frank,
You know I like your style and I've told many to pay attention to what you are doing at OpTempo - one of the few sites that has succeeded in being multi niche without having to resort to social traffic. Others can learn a lot by emulating you and you don't need to show any other sites as the flagship has it all. Keep it up Frank.
Grizz,
I fully support your decision to restrain what you share. Like everyone else I don't think you should show any of your sites or techniques from here on out.
Personally, I feel between you Court & Vic you guys have shown me and your readers how to "fish" I can't expect you to buy the bait take me to your fishing hole string my line and use your boat.
You guys have unselfishly given your readers new ways to approach making money online. I have been an avid reader of your blog since you had 300 readers. thank you and always protect yourself.
Sorry for the fishing analogy. However, as I sit and watch it rain over Lake Huron I really want to be fishing.
-Dennis
Neena,
Nice to hear from you - seems like ages.
I have no idea why some folks just have to cause problems but they are out there and it's a shame. I hear you regarding the kids - I'm in the same spot now that they are getting older and get priority with my time. Gone are the days of endlessly working online...
Thanks for dropping in and I hope life is treating you well.
I have no problem helping others out but I don't think I can be as open about what I do anymore... If you pay for information .. you aren't likely to tell others
I really hope you stay more open because not doing so is, honestly, fairly useless, Grizz. I do understand though.
I was concerned about the bike shed forum - that anyone could join - good or bad. Maybe an open invite for a week or two then shut the doors would have been better.
Now about the quote above? Do you consider a private paid area to be better - I would be interested.
I hope your site doesn't just turn into a big advert for some affiliate products - that would be a shame.
James,
Thanks and you make a good point about working things out on your own. I know Vic has talked about this and it is true - with a little guidance everyone should be able to figure out a lot of the details on their own.
Every blog and niche is different which means that no blueprint exists for everyone to follow - those who can fill in the blanks will always do better than those waiting for someone to hold their hands - just the way life works.
All the best James.
Duane,
I appreciate your advice and one day when I have sold the Lodge and find myself with time on my hands I might pursue an online consulting business but for now I wouldn't have the time - paid or unpaid.
In fairness I should mention that a lot of readers have offered to pay me for my time and I have always refused as I don't believe I could give them the time they deserve. Maybe one day...
Ray,
As I mentioned above to Duane I just wouldn't have the time to pursue a membership site at this time. It's one thing to post sporadically on a free blog but charging people for my infrequent posts would cause a revolt. Lol.
Your idea might be something Vic should consider though.
Court would never say this but he is far to clean and classy to get mixed in with me and Vic on a site - let's face it, Vic and I tend to push things a bit farther than Court which is probably why we have so much respect for the guy.
Dennis,
Hey I love fishing analogies and that one was spot on. Thanks for the support Dennis.
As for the rain - look at the bright side - I wouldn't be answering comments if the PGA Championship in Detroit wasn't under rain delay right now! Ha.
When it stops catch a big one!
Griz,
Huh, I just come back to the 'real world' after my honeymoon in the Caribbean (Turcs and Caicos Islands), start to settle back into my online routines, and what do I see? Some of the people whose opinions I most value in the MMO field are starting to pull back the reins on their public visibility.
There are always going to be those bad apples that seem to take pleasure in spoiling the harvest for the whole field. Well, you know what I mean.
I'm guess we might see some of your comrades in arms taking up the mantle of teaching others since they really seem to know their stuff, too and have been quick to offer helpful advice in the past.
Finally, you called for those of us who have followed your blog to maybe help each other out: now that I am 'recently married' instead of 'just married', I hope to help. I have a blogger blog sitting around doing nothing that I am waiting to see indexed. Once it is, I would like to use it as a place for site owners to list a brief description of their site(s), including an anchored backlink in exchange for them just mentioning the review on their site with an anchored link to my blog. They would get the link and (hopefully) down the road I get a site with some decent PR - or at least the feeling that I was able to help someone. Basically back scratching 101, I guess.
Again Griz, thanks for your past lessons here, and for the ones I am sure are yet to come.
Hi Gizz,
Yes I fully understand the shitty feeling. Remember the old blog I mentioned the last time? The one with the PR0 and the experiment I did to see if what I learned here can be applied to a PR0 blog and still rank among the top for a very competitive keyword in my region at least?
The moment I posted the results, I have some arsehole posting that I am trying to be a copycat trying to oust her from her coveted position. LOL.
Got really fed up. Shut down that blog, and redirected all my existing but pitiful readers to a new one. LMAO! And I was on the verge of sending you an email to get your help in getting that blog off the ground. I'll send it anyway, but if you are really tied up, just ignore it okay? I'll understand.
Take care old boy. Money is important, but health is wealth.
I am amazed that people get your sites deindexed - Vic said the same thing. I recently reported a site for stealing my content : blogger no less - and got an email back from blogger a weak later saying I had to send a FAX WTF And if I should get an attorney because the other side might counter-sue - this is on content which make me like 5c/month - and the thief would have made less -their Adsense placement was crap! Yet google will index your legit site just on someone's say so - how does that work?
Griz,
I have a time saving tip for you (no charge). Cut your comments in half that you write as a response. My goodness, I know you like to respond and that is great but that is where a lot of your time is being sucked away!
Stephen,
Congrats on your marriage and welcome back. How is the Turc's and Caicos? The Canadian government briefly toyed with adopting them a few years back but decided we didn't need any more people in our healthcare net.
Let me know the blog when indexed and I'll put the word out. Never anything wrong with people helping each other out.
Costa,
That's a nice looking new site you have up and running. Send me a keyword in your email and I'll see if I can produce a few links for you. Btw - check out what RT is doing at Untwisted Vortex. He has found a way to make a few bucks based in your part of the world which as you know is no easy task.
Good luck Costa and send the email.
Lissie,
Reporting stolen content does little to effect G as you have seen - they don't like to get in the middle of a legal matter. The problem is when your site is reported as spam or for selling links - this is how you can get tied down with G waiting for a review if legit or pulling the plug if you aren't. In my case I have had to deal with the spam accusations which immediately meant PSA ads and loss of revenue - not de-indexing.
Bruce (DJN),
That's really good advice and I think I will follow it starting right n
Lol.
Griz,
Do what you have to do. I know I appreciate everything I've learned from you. As others have said, we know you are a straight shooter and don't need you to reveal your sites to prove what you are saying.
Hi Grizzly!
There is nothing wrong with tough love, and it seems it is that time for some of your readers.
I'm totally grateful for your published writings to date, and will value any future articles even more, given your unfortunate need to retrench.
It's a sad fact that whenever there is a good thing going, there is a certain element that has to plunder or despoil it for selfish short term gain - but be encouraged that you have been paid the ultimate compliment for your work, when even the low-lifes recognize that it is well worth stealing!
Keep on Bloggin' - Rhys
hi griz
I too, think what happened to bs is no coincidence. Perhaps a good strategy is to diversify link sources even if it means less effectiveness. I use different link sources cos I can't afford pros like bs - looks like that turned out to be a blessing in disguise!
I hope you still continue with your tips but just don't mention sites to be safe - I firmly believe the majority of us are grateful to you for sharing your knowledge.
All the best to you.
Great to know you are alive Griz. I know i emailed you a couple times. I am getting ready to Launch a special project soon. I think you might find some value there. :)
Griz,
I can understand exactly how you feel as there are some self-righteous assholes out there that feel it's there mission in life to "do the right thing" and report sites that they feel are "spammy" in their own opinion.
I don't know what it does to them to report sites all day long, sort of like those Digg fanatics that slam people and flag posts. Maybe they're lonely people and this is how they get their jollies? Maybe porn doesn't cut it for them anymore? lmao!
Anyways, I can relate as I have cut back from my posting some and haven't posted about some of my methods and tips that I have been using out of fear of being reported or found out as well.
Stick to what you do best, take care of yourself first and don't worry about us.
I completely agree about reading your old posts. It can be tough going through them all, but there is treasure there!
I don't know if there is a good answer on how to allow people to ask questions and get answers. Personally, I would remove your email address from this site and clear your inbox. Not to sound mean, but email sucks life out of you just as quickly as comments and blogging.
Anyways, enough rambling on my part. Let me know if I can help you out in anyway or post anything to further elaborate or take some weight off of you.
Have fun in heaven up there fishing!
Elliott
Hi Griz, glad you see you're still with us and not off on the other side of a lake somewhere in a boat with a long rod and a six-pack dangling in the water...
Hey! Come to think of it, I should be relaxing down at the pool right now, not slaving over this hot PC!
Anyhow, I do have a suggestion for you and there is only one place I can put it without contributing to your inbox woes where I'll know you'll see it and no one else will! Hope that's not too moderately cryptic ;-)
BTW, I think you've given as much info as anyone would need to get themselves into a position where they can make money online (had to get that keyword in there!) and as James pointed out, if people can't take what they've learned and progress from there by themselves, they're not cut out for this business anyway!
Harsh but true (and the truth often hurts).
John,
Thanks for the vote of confidence - means a lot.
Btw - nice job on your blog, a unique niche with great PR. Tough to monetize I suspect but a good flagship blog (pardon the pun)
All the best John.
Thanks Rhys,
Nice hearing from you and I hope all is going well.
Hey Mambo,
Don't get me wrong as I always diversify my linking - just pissed off that one of my sources is no longer usable. Fortunately I still have others but won't be yakking too loudly about them.
Thanks for dropping in.
Justin,
Actually I'm trying to weed myself away from everything else in order to follow up on projects with you, Terry and Carla. Hopefully I will get the chance now.
Thanks Elliot. I appreciate the help and if need be I won't hesitate to contact you. I know how busy you are as well though. Email wouldn't be so bad except the questions are never short ones and the answers aren't either - lol. As I mentioned most are already available in those God forsaken archives. I am hoping to put everything into a book in some kind of sensible order with Carla's help as soon as time permits.
I don't want to remove the email in case G gets a bit ruffled without a contact point.
As for Fish - had a nice little fish fry last night... fresh Walleye (insert drooling Homer smilie)
Always glad to hear from you Elliot!
Terry,
I fired off an email earlier to you but haven't checked the cryptic box yet - will shortly.
Talk soon.
Hi Griz,
I agree with Simonne, your true friends will understand and support whatever you need to do.
I'm glad you still want to work on the book! As we know, the best revenge is to make a #$%*load of money. Since the book will allow you to profit from information you've already written, the people who've tried to hurt you can just stand back and eat your dust.
Your busy season seems to be coinciding with mine, so it's just as well we haven't been able to start. My schedule will clear out after the first week in September, so any time after that would be fine with me.
Hey Grizzly,
I don't need to see examples or screenshots of how well you've done. You've earned your credibility on this blog and don't need to prove a damn thing. I, for one, appreciate all of the help. Just continue to share a few tips here and there without revealing your sites whenever possible.
Thanks
Rick Stevens
Hi Griz,
This had to come didn't it? The moment anyone gets too open some a*hle flags them or takes advantage of them.
It's just not worth it.
I'm a hypocrite I guess, because I love reading the latest information you give, but I also cringe every time you do, because I can guess what's going to happen next...
You, Vic and Court (and several others who comment here) have posted enough information out there already. It's all in your archives if people bother to look. And if people really cannot follow that advice (and learn to read between the lines sometimes...), then they are not going to make it anyway. So why lay your asses on the line any more?
The only thing which bothers me a little though is how are those just starting out going to find the good advice when (if...) your blogs slowly disappear off the radar, or the real helpful stuff disappears down deep into the archives...?
Maybe that needs thinking about? Should the rest of us carry on pointing people in the right direction? Or will that only make things worse? (But I don't think we - your readers - have any right to assume we belong to some exclusive club just because we found you when we did). Difficult...
As for being a social blogger, yeah, that sucks. I remember you saying somewhere that it's nice to have friends (and you are right), but it comes with a downside too. All that damn socializing!
You have to be able to force yourself to hold back and take the flack when people knock you for doing so. (and I know just what this means now. It's not just the comments, it's the constant emails asking for help that you feel bad about not answering - you should see the ones I get at times. Nowhere near the bulk that you get, but very time consuming in their own right...).
So anyway, lol! Do what you can when you can. You have been a good friend to lots of us here. We should all appreciate that. But please, never give any more away than you have to. You know it makes sense ;)
I understsnd completely why the three of you feel the way you do and why you guys are considering scaling back. Fortunately, I have been lucky enough to glean enough information from your blog to be successful as my results are proof of this.
Jealousy is unfortunately a human condition that we all must deal with at some point, but to call you a show off???? C'mon!! Obviously whomever said this has no idea what it takes to build a blog such as this one and to do it for pure vanity is ridiculous!
Griz, I can't thank you enough for what you've done here and I will most certainly miss your in depth instruction. However, reading between the lines in furture post from you will still hold a great deal of wealth producing information I'm sure!!!
Thanks again for everything!!
Hi Grizz,
long time no chat! I really really really have to thanks you, Vic, Court and also Justin (from blogging zombie)! You all have taught me how to do online business on the very foundation!
I am really glad that I met you guys! I sincerely thanks all of you!
I also really wish that Vic will not close down the BU site, I love that site very much even without any new post.
But if he closed it down, I also understand personally. On the side note, I am quite ashame of myself, you all taught me so much, so much, yet my results is so little, I let you all down. I am very sorry.
But I still believe I am still in business, I have faith in myself, I learn things slower than normal and plus I am going to finish my studies soon which is taking alot of my time. I will still continue to put in hard work and keep testing whenever I have the extra time.
The amount of extra time I had put in out of all my free time, its alots and sleeping late, I will keep doing it and I will enjoy the fruits of my hardwork.
I also understand you all unable to reply emails, your family needs you too.
I have been enjoying learning from http://makemoneyonlinegrizzly.com/ and http://www. bloggerunleashed.com and http://www.bloggingzombie.com and http://optempo.com/ and http://makemoneyforbeginners.blogspot.com.
You all are true to help people along, I wish you all godspeed in whatever you all do!
You guys are the best! I would like to also thanks all BU readers in the chat room, helping me along, trust me, I will make it one day and it will be soon!
Best Wishes

Nice to hear an update from you, Grizz, although it's sad that all the good ones are getting fed up with the whole scene. Shame about BS, but I hear some new, less shady and possibly more effective operations are blossoming out of the seeds you have planted, my friend ;)
Enjoy summer at the lodge.
hi dude............nice to see you after a long time.....
Hey Griz,
We all totally understand the need to pull back on what we all talk about. I get people over my my site sometimes asking what my sites are and my methods. I never ever share them, which leads to some people not believing. You and Vic on the other hand have proven your skill, so from this point on I'd trust almost anything you said based on your word.
And life is too busy and complicated for you guys to keep stressing if everyone learn everything. Put there information out there, it is other's job to pick it up and do something with it. The archives of your site, vics, and court's carry enough information to make money. You all have taught people how to fish, just looks like we're going to miss out of some of the new super bait you guys might find.
And I've been consider what type of information I want to discuss on my site. After seeing what happened to you guys, I don't think I'm going to share any shady tactics =(
But no worries Griz, do what you have to do and good luck no matter what.
=)

Dear Grizz,
Never let the haters stop you. Then they have the satisfaction of knowing that they won.
Keep doing what you do, but just change it up a little. The readers of this blog know that you are the real deal, if you have to use made up sites instead of your real ones then do so.
You have more than enough credibility that we know that you are not making stuff up. I know i love the actual screen shots of real sites and earnings but if you just gotta use sample stats just do. I have learned alot from this blog. And I know that just by reading the comments to this post you are gonna realize that there are way more people showing you love than the few haters out there.
Just whatever you do, don't let he haters win, keep the info comin. I look forward to your posts on lead generation sites, because i think this is the next step that all your readers wnat to take. Whatever sites you use to illustrate your example, doesn't have to be your real ones. I know that I and 99% of your readers are going tobelieve you. Your track record has already spoken for itself.
@ simonne... good as this blog is I dount it is on G's radar!
BS would have burned anyway, the network was too small... and it was getting abused... I remember looking at some of the links and laughing... people promoting ezine articles... loads of BANS sites... spun content... everyone got too greedy, not least the owners of BS themselves... and publishing the complete list of sites for a competitor to copy / paste into a paid link report was niave.... to put it politely.
The really surprising thing is that it lasted for a year!
@ Grizz.. cant believe you get critisized for being MFA... anyone who has ever built / made money from an MFA would know that you do not need to provide value in MFA sites... in fact... you do not want to provide value... you want people to click out to find the value!!
I am guessing your critics are no mark MMO bloggers writing about monetizing feedburner and selling snakeoil LOL
One final note... wish you guys would plugg this instead of BANS:
http://www.itsgottabered.com/wordbay/
Its free... and IMO WP is better than Bans would ever be....
(korprit)
start a second blog that is a subscription service (affordable for the newbies like me still learning to make buck) that you can use to air some of your real guarded gems...that way if some asshole does stick you for it, you still have a ton of subscribers like me out there eager to read your next post....
just a thought....i know...let the flames begin...but information needs to be guarded, and i don't want ass hats out there ruining your good nature for the rest of us
1$/month across 500 subscribers seems like a decently easy income, and very affordable
Hey Griz,
Not that I think you will ever need my help hehehe but know I'm just an email away yeah.
Like what we old skoolers used to say - keep it underground!
Hi Griz,
Too sad to hear this, but you have helped many people here. I really appreciate your tutorials here. What a shame for those who have spoiled this great blog. Anyway, doing it cautiously is the way. We are still here to support your blog!!
Griz,
I fully understand what your saying and where your coming from. To be quite honest I was suprised to find sites like yours and Vic's online in the first place. I know I'll never reveal my secrets to anyone other than close contacts. Definately not on the web like you guys.
I am very greatful for all the info you have shared and can't tell you enough how much easier It has made understand making money online. Eventually I'll make it to the big leagues, lol
Gotafish
Thanks for the honesty.
Grizz , thanks for keeping it real. I recently helped someone with Bans sites. We talked about niches and I helped him choose one, chose his domain and yada yada yada . I did not reveal mine . Now understand when I say helped Im talking about nightly conversations for many nights. I then found out my name was used on a search trying to find my niches. Now obviously he did not find anything, but the point is after all the help he tried.
I have been involved in many business's in my life and all were competitive, but I have never seen anything quite like internet marketing. I was talking with Vic the other day and told him, you know what ? I want to get less public , find me a piece of frozen tundra to live on like Grizz and just do my thing. If you help someone , it seems its never enough. What is amazing is we are all just tiny dots on the internet and there is enough traffic and business for everyone , but that doesnt seem to matter does it? This is gonna turn into a rant in a minute so I will stop, Do your own thing and Do it your way. If that includes being absent from time to time, so be it.
Hello Griz, I've been a silent reader of your blog for the past 4 months. I am totally new to MMO but following your posts, my 3 month-old blog with 20 posts is already making me 1.5 dollars per day, on the average. Nothing to shout about, but my point is that if I've not bumped into your site and Court's, I would have probably given up MMO altogether.
I've many questions when I started out, but have found all the answers within your posts (I've read through all of them, faithfully) and comments. I think all readers should try to find the answers for themselves too instead of bombarding your mail-box.
You guys have been very nice and I join the others in showing my appreciation for all the sharings. One of the reason that I've never considered MMO earlier was because I thought all of them are just scams. You guys changed my perception.
Thanks again, and whatever you choose to reveal or not, I am sure all your loyal readers will understand.
Yea I'm not certain what to do on my blog either. I have things that I'm doing that I want to shout about that seems to be effective but I'm paring down how much information about my activities I am divulging. I keep things fairly generic. I learned a lot from the BANS/.info fiasco from BU. I realize I don't have near the reach you guys have but if something is working there is very little reason to share it with the Internet. Sounds selfish but there are a lot of d-bags interested in assisting you in failing. All of which leaves me with very little to say on my blog anymore it seems.

Griz,
I figured you were busy doing the lodge stuff. Summer is our tourist season and it has been hard for me to do online stuff as well.
I appreciate your lessons and understand you having to quiet it down. Shame. Looking forward to whatever you feel you can openly offer and your ebook with carla when it comes out.

I completely understand with your decision not to reveal your secrets anymore. But Griz, your presence online gives a lot of strength and motivation to dream big and work towards realization.
Please find out a way to be online without wasting your time...short posts...maybe.
Well Griz you could always write an ebook and cash in big time on all this information that you give away for free! Or set up a paid service where you answer questions.
I know that's not your style but it is a good thought.
nice article, i like it a lot . . .
please keep going ! ! !
Looks like the old catch22. The good news is you have a great idea as far as backlinks are concerned. The bad news is the idea is too good. It is too popular and you can't keep up. I know I have two emails into you, sitting in that thousand plus email bin! Ha Ha! Rest assured I'm in no hurry. Good things come to those that wait!
I think in any group of people, or gathering of like minded people you will always have the bad people. Please don't let those few influence your thinking. A majority, which I am one, respect everything coming out of your blog. What I would like to see is that list you had mentioned, of all that would be interested in the review section on their web sites. Then we could bother each other! Ha Ha!
Hang in there!
Lamach50
Hey Griz,
If I could apply just 5% of all the tips and lessons held within this blog, well, I'd be one happy gal. I just read through your Pay Day loans posts, hitherto skipped over because of the title. They were just great.
So glad that you're writing a book. I love reading your posts. You have the gift, man!
You have to take care of yourself, and that's all there is to it. You've all ready given loads and loads. I'll always keep on checking and hoping for more though. Nobody 'splains things like you do.
Ok then, now should it be fresh halibut, Atlantic salmon, or cod for dinner?
Yup. I made it. And I am loving it.
Hello grizz, it seems i'm the last one to comment. I fully understand your motives, and i wonder why you didn't do this earlier. Unfortunately there 's plenty of scam bags in this world, that their only objective is to ruin other people. You shared a lot of information, and if people don't achieve success, it's because they're not following what you taught us, or they're not working HARD. Yes, that's the first problem of most of us, that tries to make money online, the working HARD.
Everything is possible, but without work, there's no such thing, except of course, if we're a thief or a drug dealer, but even that needs WORK.
I must give you a BIG thank you for everything that you've shared with us, you opened our eyes for what is obvious and had always be in front of our eyes.
THANK YOU GRIZZ!!
We're constantly indoctrinated to the idea that someone else's success somehow is the reason for our station in life. Just look at all the class warfare crap. Look at the political ads talking about "windfall profits" It's not a f*cking windfall. Winning the lottery is a windfall. Profiting from a business is the result of work, risk and planning.
So, day after day we're constantly exposed to this complete bullsh1t that someone else has gained at my expense. So the logical thing to do is tear them down.
The fact is, when the tide comes all, all the boats float higher, and tearing someone down does exactly zero to improve your lot in life. It doesn't even make you feel better like it promises to do.
It's a sad fact that we've lost the ideal of taking responsibility for your own destiny, and one of the results is this kind of a55holery.
Grizz has provided an unbelievable resource here. I am glad that it exists, but don't focus on the aholes that want to ruin it for everyone. You've made a lot of valuable connections to leverage in the future. Overall, I would say whatever you have lost, Grizz, has been more than made up in the organic linkbuilding that has resulted, and the community of potential allies that have been formed.
It sucks that losers, with loser mentality, determined only to ever be successful in being a stain on humanity want to f*ck over anything worthwhile on this earth, but don't EVER let it get you down.
Someone once said, "The challenge is the goal." I like that. I think that guy must have been pretty smart.
(Sorry for the rant, but it's a hot point for me)
totally agree to what you said. posting regularly required more than patience. count the time put in and the time spend on all those conversations followed, it could be better if it's more on business and profits.
New reader here (and a bit late), but I wanted to say that a person who is a know-it-all and showing off would slap a price tag on it. I never understood how people can say that to someone who gives detailed advice and know-how for free.
As far as your proofs, those would be for idiots like me who are burned from scams and are too stupid to pick out hints of when to stop. We need proof so we can believe again in the good guys.
Thanks for the time and effort. I am steadily making my way through your posts.
