Google Slaps Backlink Solutions

Backlink Solutions - November 2008 Update

Since writing the post below the owners of Backlink Solutions have added 70 new blogs to the network and these additions are ranked in Google and have PR. As of now the system is back up and running and is working fine. If you join the system you have a choice of which network you wish to use - the old network (which while useless for Google serp rankings is nonetheless still quite useful for getting ranked well in Yahoo and MSN as they don't use the PR system and haven't de-indexed the older sites) or the new network (recommended if you are trying to get indexed and ranked in Google as well as Yahoo and MSN) or you can use both. (there are no extra fees for using both networks) The new sites were added in October and I have waited to post as I wanted to test the new blogs first. They are producing the desired results after using them this past month so I have no problem recommending the Backlink Soluions network once again. I have left the post below in order for you to understand the context of this update.

Griz - Nov 13, 2008

Original Post

As of a couple of days ago the link network Backlink Solutions became the latest casualty in Google's war on paid links. The entire roster of BS blogs was de-indexed and effectively ends what was once a useful program for getting backlinks. If you belong to the program you might think about canceling your membership and cease using the blogs. I contacted Chad and Colin - the owners of BS, and alerted them to the problem and aside from "we are looking into this", I haven't heard back from them. I have waited two days to publish this in the event that it was just a temporary glitch in the serp's (all blogspot blogs were de-indexed briefly a month ago but came back online a few days later) but this was more wishful thinking than anything else.

For those who have been using the system you may want to track your rankings and see if there is any fallout. This is a good reminder of why you should never rely on any 1 program or system for creating backlinks.

Speaking of backlinks I would like to thank everybody for the support I have received unveiling my new blog "Make Money Online with Grizzly". I certainly didn't expect 100 plus comments on a new site with just 1 post but you folks are amazing. I really need to thank some of my biggest supporters and urge others to take the time and visit some of these wonderful blogs.

My thanks to;

Frank and his make money review blog OpTempo.

Costa and his make money blogging site Blogigs.

Vic's make money online blog - Blogger Unleashed.

Denise and her make money at home blog - How to Make Money Online at Home.

Lamach's web site design blog - Lamach Web Site Design

John who could use a hand promoting his cell phone accessories site - Z-Tel

Irene at her Internet marketing for small business blog - Strange Duck

Steve and his make money reviews site - Noovy

Terry at his make money blog - The Honest Way

I will send out more thank you's in upcoming posts to all those who have been kind enough to send luv to the new blog. Thanks again everyone. (If I miss anyone please let me know)

Why create Make Money Online with Grizzly?

Several of you have asked if this is the end of this blogger blog in response to the news that I have started a new MMO blog. Not at all. One of the constraints of this blog all along is that it makes money from adsense. This has meant having to optimize everything I write with consideration given to the Adsense bot rather than my readers. There are lots of things I would like to discuss but don't simply because it will bugger up my SEO and lower my earnings. This site was built for search traffic. The new site is built for social traffic. I can write freely on the new site without having to concern myself with SEO as much. I say "as much" because I will still optimize the site for keywords but I can now post non-relevant topics as well.

The other reason for the new blog should be obvious to those of you who have been following along with me for a while. Once you build up one authority site use it to build up more. And not just your own. Help your friends build up theirs. Create a network. I'm not talking spam sites - real legit quality content sites. I'll be creating a page on the new site with a list of my friends online. These are people who all understand the importance of networking with others. If you are new here then these are the people you should visit and get to know them, leave comments, link to posts you like, become friends. They cover many niches - not just "Make Money Online" and we all know how hard backlinks are to find. Having friends makes this so much easier.

The list will be on going and will take a bit to complete but if you want on it just send me an email. If you are a "pay it forward" kind of person we would love to have you join us.

Cheers,

Griz

Hi there Griz,
I want on that list please.

I am going to do a post (probably my next one) and link to a few sites including yours. What anchor text do you want used for your new site and do you continue to want "make money online" to be used for this one?

Sorry if this is somewhere on one of your posts but I don't have time to search.

Hi Bruce, (DJN)

I will definitely have you on the list. Thanks for the support and you have picked the correct anchor although any MMO keyword will do. Much appreciated.

Hey,

Just sent e-mailed you a link to a post of mine for the reader's page.

Thanks for doing this site and your new one, its been immensely helpful! I can't wait to see what your new content will be like with the freedom you'll have.

David,

Thanks. Got the email and have added it to the list. Good luck with the site and thanks again.

I appreciate the link that you gave me some time ago. I wrote another post this week linking to you again, but this one's on me this time. Thanks, Ben

hey griz,
havn't said anything for a while but have been keeping up with your posts...

now that backlink solutions is gone, what would be the next best solution (no pun intended) to quickly build backlinks?

or is it back to rewriting PLR articles?

Angrycat said...

I only signed up a couple of days ago, I realised they had been banned b4 reading your post... they just gave me refund ;-)

Soon as I saw their network... so small and so open I knew it would not go the distance... ironic that it was de-listed so quickly after I joined!

RT Cunningham said...

I tried one company like that and could see at the very beginning that something was wrong. I'm glad I decided not to participate in any more.

By the way, Griz, how would you like 1300+ backlinks all at once on your new blog? I'm just kidding... I wouldn't cause a sandbox on purpose.

Grizzly said...

Costa,

My Pleasure my friend.:-)

Hch,

Nice to see you - been a while. Hope all is well. There are plenty of black hat link services out there but keep in mind that this route is fraught with danger as exemplified with BS. If you choose to do things below board then be smart, use common sense and be sure to use all the legit methods as well. Networking with others is probably the safest and most effective way to generate quality links.

Grizzly said...

Jez, (Angrycat)

Glad to hear you had no problems with the refund. BS actually survived for more than a year which surprised me - given that it wasn't the most subtle of systems. Perhaps you are a bad omen Jez? Lol.

Grizzly said...

RT,

1300 "quality backlinks" all at once would be interesting just to see how G would handle it. Now where are you hiding these links... :-)

RT Cunningham said...

From my main blog, sitewide of course. Just tell me if you want them and they're yours. I can't guarantee any juice though.

Grizzly said...

RT,

Hell yah... I'm always game to try anything new or untried. The only way to learn is to experiment. Give it a shot and let's see what happens. Thanks RT!

RT Cunningham said...

Done. Check out the second widget in my right sidebar.

Grizzly said...

Thanks RT - friends like you are hard to find. Btw - have we ever figured out a keyword to use when linking to you... hint! :-)

RT Cunningham said...

Well, the Google Adwords tools says "make money" but I'm not going down that road. Filter out money and then it says "search engine". That tool sucks!

I'm just an old desert rat looking to find peace of mind as retiree in the Philippines.

"Philippines" gets around 3000 clicks per day according to SpyFu and it has a hell of a long tail. I wonder how hard it would be for me to optimize for that in just about every post? (It's already in the title tag.) Hmmm...

Grizzly said...

RT,

How about "Old Desert Rat"?... :-)

Actually 3000 per day is a healthy number and that kind of traffic can lead to decent ad revenue. "Philippines" it is unless you come up with another.

RT Cunningham said...

You're evil, Griz! Philippines works for me, but you better spell it right. :-)

Old Desert Rat indeed! :-)

Grizzly said...

RT,

Actually a misspelled version would be a good idea too...

Oh... not enough searches for Desert Rat... too bad... :-)

hch said...

all is indeed well, thanks for asking.

networking? you mean like swapping targetted links between each other like you mentioned in your previous post?

hmm i thought two way links were discounted by google? or has it changed since then?

(i know you encourage people to link to each other's relevant, interesting content, but the fact is google is still going to detect that both websites link to each other right?)

i could be totally off the mark on what you're doing so forgive my ignorance if it's something else.

Hi Grizz

One of my niche sites has been de-indexed by google as well (it's been a week now). I only use article marketer to get backlinks and nothing more. Could it be just a glitch by google or am I really banned? My other niche sites are fine though

Thanks

Affzan

This blog is the most practical one regarding this subject matter. Griz has done a great job.

By the way, does the outlines for creating many niche blogs still working? It seems like many similar sites are get deindexed, and not being indexed as quick as we expected by following the approach outlined here and other similar blogs.

You can refer discussions here or you search through Google about deindexed by Google:
http://www.seobuzzbox.com/deindexed-from-google/
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=216302

Is it because G now understand how this game is being played by reading all these "Make Money Online" blogs as well? So Backlink Solutions is being slapped. I am trying to do some experiments to see whether things are being changed.

Griz did you observe anything abnormal things happening?

Andy

I was using BLS and noticed the fallout last week, also was hoping it was a glitch! Worse: it seems that my site that I was targeting with BLS has been de-indexed as well.

Have you heard of this before - punishing users of a paid link network on top of shutting the network down?

Chris said...

Hey there, just saw your post, i had just joined BLS, and I was going through their video when i decided to check some of the sites that showed up in there and see there were all de-indexed so did a search and found your info here, have you seen any benefit since the new blogs have been in place? And if Google found them once, what makes them think they wont find them again

DLS said...

Ok, I'm trying to get this straight. So each time I make a post on any of my blogs I need to go under the titel where it says link address and put my website address and then after the / add a keyword or phrase? Is that right because I have not been doing that I've just been putting my home page. Crap! Is the right way because I can go and change all my posts?

Project Payday - A Legit Method to Make Money at Home

I have included Project Payday on my blog for all of my readers who write in asking if there are any legit online programs that they can use to make some quick money. Project Payday is not a get rich quick scheme - it is more like a work at home job. You don't need a blog or website as it involves getting paid to try out trial offers from online advertisers. There is work to this but you can realistically earn a couple of hundred dollars a day if you want to put in the effort.

I have written several posts about this and suggest you start with this one. Project Payday

Unfortunately Project Payday is only available to American and Canadian users at this time. Oh and it is free.

Note - After signing up take advantage of the Fast First Training link - you can learn how the IFW system works while making yourself a quick $50.00.
