You Will learn Nothing Useful With This Post

Hi Folks - It's time for a new post as the last one has generated 225 comments and is causing Blogger.com to act a bit strange. The problem is I am seriously tied up with some real world activities at the moment and don't have time to write anything useful so I thought I would give you an idea of what life is like in the middle of the Canadian wilderness.

The photo above (click to enlarge) was taken from the front deck of my Fishing Lodge and shows the end of a 380km winter road that winds through eastern Manitoba's Boreal forest. The road is built each winter across frozen bogs and muskeg in order to supply remote areas like my Lodge and several Indian Reserves with a years supply of Gas, propane, building materials and dry goods. I construct a 35km road across my lake in order to meet up with the main winter road built by the Province. The road lasts from mid January until the end of March but recent years the time frame has been as low as two weeks. Global warming perhaps?

I have about 1200 truckers pass by on their way to the Indian communities located nearby. As you can see these fellows are delivering a mobile home to a community located about 100 kilometres north of me. The trucks weigh in at 85,000 lbs and yes - they are on the ice. The ice road is about 6 feet thick at the moment which is plenty for these semi tractors - they need 33 inches of ice to travel safely on it.

The photos above and below are of the main winter road which is little more than a path pushed through the forest with a bulldozer. The clearings are for microwave towers used to transmit telephone signals from the north - there is a tower every 40km.

We have a gravel runway located on one of the islands for our main transportation year round and lots of water for float planes. The lake is about 100km end to end and approximately 60 km wide. We have close to 5000 islands to navigate around and yes I have been lost a few times...

The lake begins freezing over mid October and usually thaws in May. During these times we travel by helicopter.

Ok. I Lied... we use the chopper all year round. (It's a pretty cool way to travel) Check out some of the photos below taken from the chopper...

A winter's sunset.

Rocky and Bullwinkle

On Donner and Blixen and where the heck is Santa - a herd of Reindeer or as we call them - Woodland Cariboo

The lake freezing over near an Indian community 20km down the lake from the lodge.

Oh btw, it's not always winter in this part of the world.

We sneak in a little fishing from time to time...

Have I mentioned I have a few dogs - Alaskan Malamutes

oh... and a wolf named Max

and this would be the boss...

And there you have it - a new post so stop asking and I didn't mention "Make Money Online" once.

If you're a first time visitor then you are as confused as hell - sorry about that.

Cheers,

Griz

Don't you just hate it when you try and catch a few minutes of sleep and someone sticks a big slimy Lake Trout in your arms... And people ask me why I don't have a photo on my blog!

Update: One of my readers Wayne of Adventures in Trucking has some wonderful photos he and his wife took while traveling the Alaska Highway. Click the link and check them out - some really great shots.

Alright Grizz.... I am officially jealous. The lodge looks great and I love all the pics. One thing I want to do in my life is a fly in fishing trip to Canada.

Heh,
Historically, I have had some trouble understanding why anyone voluntarily heads out your way: after seeing your pictures however, I am somewhatless mystified.

A few years ago on a flight home to Vancouver from Montreal, I was lucky enough to experience the 'thrill' of turbulence caused by a lightning storm over your Province. Fun, fun, fun.

Thanks for the change of pace, Grizz.

PS. After seeing the picture of "the boss", I have to ask how a toddler has learned so much about SEO in such a short time? lol...

PPS. Hey, a comment from me with no newbie Blogger questions? Wow.

Beautiful place. I'm used to to tropical weather, and I have yet to see snow.

I always wanted a pet wolf!

Hi Grizzly,

Well nice to see you. After all you’re real now :)

Thanks for yours posts. I learn lot of things and well I created my own American Idol site too !!

http://jason-castro.blogspot.com/

My site is rank in second page in yahoo and I'm getting 200 visitors’ per day. Well I'm a beginner to this field and I'm over the moon now :)

Small question for you, my rankings are only good in Yahoo, not with Google. What is the trick here, I can't understand this.

Thanks again.

Thanks for that info on the wilderness of Canada. I always wondered how those remote parts operated. I guess the lodge makes enough money from hunting/fishing that you don't want to move? 6 foot thick ice boggles the mind. I live in South Dakota and think we're plenty cold. It's a big fishing/hunting state as well.

Grizzly Brears said...

Rookie,

Fortunately there are a lot of folks with the same desire and I have had full bookings for several years now. Glad you liked the pics - I finally took some of the road as the fisherman are constantly asking me how the heck we get everything into the place. Showing is easier than explaining.

Grizzly Brears said...

Stephen,

When I bought the lodge 15 years ago everyone who knew me thought I was insane. Most have dropped in to visit over the years and once they have seen the lake - especially in summer - they have changed their tune.

I love a good old lightning storm... when I'm sitting on the porch watching it - not so much when I'm in the middle of the lake in an aluminum boat with a graphite rod in my hands...

The "toddler" turns two today and is already playing on the computer - pbskids.org if I remember right. I have to get her groomed early. ha

Btw, I love Vancouver - one of the most beautiful cities on the planet but your winters suck - damp and drizzle not for me - I like cold and sunny! lol.

Grizzly Brears said...

Jblu,

Thanks and I admit I like sneaking off to the tropics from time to time myself. Golf sucks here in the winter - keep losing my golf balls in the snow. ha.

Grizzly Brears said...

Jack,

You're not alone but it grows on you once your used to it. I lived in California for a year and missed the seasons and the long summer days - had to come back north. How sick is that?

Grizzly Brears said...

Indy,

It is only recently that Yahoo has started indexing and ranking blogspot blogs - I have yet to figure out why. As for Google it's a matter of getting lot's of those keyword targeted backlinks I have been known to talk about incessantly.

Grizzly Brears said...

Christine,

North and South Dakota are no strangers to cold and snow. I have been through your neck of the woods often and we are definitely kindred spirits. Your roads are a lot better than mine though. lol.

Thanks so much for stopping in.

Absolutely incredible Griz! I truck for my real job so it's always interesting to see how stuff gets up there. We did a trip to Alaska but it was during the summer. That was the most incredible trip ever. I couldn't even imagine during the winter.

Thanks for the insight into your little piece of paradise!

Terry said...

Hi Griz, its great to finally put a face to the name! They're great pics - I seriously love the place (ok, maybe I forgot what real cold feels like) and it looks like somewhere I may just have to come and visit!

Thanks for sharing a piece of your life with us!

Grizzly Brears said...

Wayne,

The truckers in the photo blew two air bags on the way up the road and tipped the house over coming down one of the hills. I had to send out a backhoe and an excavator to flip the whole works upright and help them limp into the lodge. The inside of the building is pretty smashed up and we just replaced the airbags yesterday. They headed off this morning and I'm thinking I may be hauling them out of the bush again - none of them had been on a winter road before... noob truckers sheesh.

The Alaska highway is on my to do list - have heard it's an incredible journey from a lot of people.

Grizzly Brears said...

Hey Terry,

Glad you like it. Since Vic stuck his mug online I have had no end of people asking me what I looked like so I figured what the hell. i was fully expecting a sudden drop in RSS subs this morning but surprisingly not... the day isn't over yet though! ha.

You are welcome anytime but bring your own beer - it costs $60 a case flying it in. lol.

Hi Griz,
It's great to see your photo, beware G may put it on most wanted list. you're life is really cool and even your place.
and about my Indian Premier League Blog, it has not got indexed yet. My last blog got indexed in just 4days. Is there any technique to know if there is any mistake in my Blog........

Grizzly Brears said...

Aravind,

Let me look into it and I will get back to you. You are using original content? Has blogger flagged you? Just trying to narrow down the possibilities.

Anonymous said...

Hi Grizzly,

Thanks for your reply. Actually I went through your blog lot of times to check whether I will get a reply from you. Thanks for that.

My problem is still there, my question is, "Just think their is a new star in the block, and another new guy create a site for this new star and put lot of new content, but there isn't place for him in Google. Instead Google gives away to old guys who may have just publish few things :("

If I have a good site, (at least that is what I like to think) why should I go for backlinks :(

I know my question is silly; we need content + backlinks, lot of back links I know, I have read your posts lot of time. But for me it's just unfair from Google.

Thanks in advance.

Indy

aravind said...

Every thing on the blog is written by me on my own..............how to know weather my blog is flagged?

Grizzly Brears said...

Indy,

The system as we know it is far from perfect and Google knows it too. The problem is that no one has come up with a better way to rank which sites are the most relevant.

In a perfect world every site on the net would be manually checked by a real person. (impossible in the real world)

This would certainly eliminate all the crap but deciding who was the most relevant of the quality sites on any given topic would still be a subjective decision and people would still not be happy.

As a search engine G is the best but obviously the people who understand the system know how to game it and will always outrank lots of far more deserving sites.

It sucks but there you have it.

Grizzly Brears said...

Aravind,

If you are flagged you'll see a captcha box and message on the bottom of the page when trying to post a new article. I assume then that this isn't the case.

Let me work on this. I will get back to you.

Griz,
Simply beautiful, I am starting to get fishing fever, and posting your pictures does not help.

Your pictures remind me of Michigan's UP. Who knows, maybe someday I can afford to buy a cabin up north and get a little piece of your world. As far as living on the water. That's great.

My dad waited until I went into the service and bought a house on Lake Huron
(jealous). The sunrises are wonderful.

Your post and pictures were a breath of fresh air and a reminder of why I want to make some extra money.

As always, thanks for generously sharing your knowledge and giving us hand moving our blogs through the serps.

The 5 month old threw her pacifier at me. I think that's a hint to get off the computer.

It's so good to put a face to the name.

I burst out laughing when I read the last caption about the trout. On The Sopranos they talk about sleeping with the fishes; I'm glad you were able to do that and live to tell the tale.

BTW, everything I've learned from you over the months is really starting to gel. It took a while to sink in, but I've finally implemented a lot of it on my blogs and I'm getting good results. Thanks.

Grizzly Brears said...

Dennis,

I have several groups of fisherman from the Upper Peninsula. The only place I draw more guests from is Chicago. I hope you get your cabin on the lake one day - it had always been my dream and one day I just said why not and did it. Of course I was young and single then and didn't have to worry about anyone else. My kids gave up trying to pry me off the computer so they have just joined in - little buggers catch on quick - too quick maybe. I'm taking them down to the ice for a little skating - longest skating rink they will ever see...

Thanks for dropping in Dennis and glad you liked the post.

wayne said...

I've got my pics and notes from our trip under my Alaska category.

I would be a big winter trucker noob, but I would know better not to do something that in the first place without some experienced help.

"Sleeping with the fishes!" That's hysterical! Good one!

Grizzly Brears said...

Carla,

Would you believe I have never seen an episode of the Sopranos - I just never find time for TV but everyone talked about it enough that I always wanted to see what the hype was about.

I'm glad things have sunk in and I know you sent me an email recently and try as I might I can't find it - I may have deleted it by accident while clearing out some of the emails I've answered. Please if you still have a copy send it again. I definitely will get back to you on it.

Carla said...

Hi Griz,

You've never seen The Sopranos? That's okay; I've seen each episode enough times for the both of us. (I'm not sure what that says about me.)

I actually didn't send you an e-mail, I left a comment on this blog. If you have one sitting in your moderation queue, it's probably from me. It was in regard to Tricky Movie Trivia. If you can't find it, no biggee.

Grizzly Brears said...

Wayne,

Those are great photos and I stuck a link to page on the bottom of the post. I'm assuming you don't mind.

Most of the winter road truckers are farmers trying to earn a few bucks in the winter. They average $2500 a trip which isn't bad but when they don't know what they are doing the damage to their rigs far surpasses the income. I had to laugh as these guys didn't bring any fuel with them - dumb - I sold them some of my diesel at $8.50 a gallon. They just about died and wanted to know why it was so expensive - I mentioned the fact that I had to pay truckers $2500 a load to bring it in plus cost. Oh, they said. Dumb asses. This was after they got the bill for the Hoe and excavator and food and room accommodations - a quick $4300 and that's how you make money offline... As you said, they should have talked to someone with experience first.

btw - loved your site.

Grizzly Brears said...

Carla,

That explains why I can't find your email - duh. It appears your comment fell victim to bloggers appetite - nowhere to be found. It seems that once you reach 200 comments blogger starts devouring messages. Learned something new. If you still need a hand let me know.

Enhanser,

Isn't blogspot a pain in the ass - teaches you for sneaking in a link. lol. Blogger's comment platform is truly terrible and I can't believe they haven't done anything to improve it - have none of them visited a wordpress blog?

Glad you "learned" something from the post - what I'm not sure. lol.

Grizzly Brears said...

Adventures,

Thanks - glad you like it. I have a satellite system for the internet and as of this month the phone system is now high speed - remember those microwave towers in the photos? They now have the technology to send high speed on it which is great as satellite isn't bad but not as fast as you city folks are used to.

I did get the links - thanks.

Grizzly Brears said...

Hey Mike,

I have 50 posts on Linkvana and so far so good. Mostly PR2's but a few PR3's and 1 PR5. I want to know how many blogs they have on the system and whether they are all on separate C class IP's.

They are purposefully secretive about this which bothers me as I don't want to see my posts showing up on the same blogs over and over. Only one blog has been used twice so far.

I have scheduled another 50 posts and will let you know how it turns out.

One thing I do like is that they don't allow duplicate content and the posts are better quality than backlink solutions. Otherwise aside from the posting procedure they are very similar to BS as far as the quality of sites being used and the method involved.

I'll keep you posted.

Vic seems to be having trouble getting his site to propagate across the whole net - I have had trouble loading his site for much of the past week although I got through today. Monika in Australia has been having the same problem and now it seems even those of you in the US are having trouble. Hopefully he has it solved - he was aware of it and was working on it.

Grizzly Brears said...

Dinheiro,

Yup, I'm real all right. I didn't mention in the post but my little village consists of about 50 people spread over 3 islands. There are however about 10,000 people living on 4 Indian reserves located around the lake. The largest is on the mainland about a kilometer away and the smallest is about 100 kms from the lodge. Our little town is made up of police (RCMP), pilots, teachers, Doctors/Nurses, Hydro employees and a few store owners.

The Indian communities have no economy to speak of and are funded and looked after by the Canadian Government. I run a hotel year round which caters to all the Government employees and private sector contractors who fly in to assist the Indians.

Grizzly Brears said...

Hey Noob,

Yup that's me - "a handsome devil" lol. You must have your eyes closed too. ha.

You are right about being useless more often though - my bounce rate is through the roof today as all the search traffic is jumping ship fast and fortunately clicking ads - my 7% CTR is hovering around 20% today - kaaaaaching! Money in the bank. I'll definitely have to do this again. Still waiting for the RSS cancellations...

Land in Alaska - cool - do you live there? It's the only state I have yet to have fisherman from - little wonder though as they don't need to go anywhere else.

Thanks for dropping in Noob.

Hi Griz,
gr8 news from my side, my site got indexed on google, but it is no where in the front pages, ofcourse it's too early for that, how many backlinks does it take for a blog to get indexed in front pages.....................i think u can start giving some backlinks to my site as it got indexed now.

Hitz

Grizzly Brears said...

Mike,

The more links the better so use BS in conjunction with linkvana but be sure you can recoup the costs in your niches. If you find your revenue doesn't increase enough to exceed your expenses then cancel or find better paying keywords.

Grizzly Brears said...

John,

It may be the sandbox but lately Google has been indexing new blogs within a week and then a few days later they disappear only to show up again a week later. In any case there is little you can do but wait it out.

Just keep posting as usual and Google will index you - your content is fine from what I read. Patience.

Grizzly Brears said...

Aravind,

There is no answer as to how many backlinks you need to get front page listings. It all depends on the competition and how well they are linked. I have been sending links and will send more.

Fran,

Awesome pix!

Ok, I've got a business question. Here's the short version:

What program(s) do you use to find out exactly which ads your visitors are clicking on and how much the individual ads are paying?

Here's the longer version:

A week or so ago, I was Googling around to find out how many folks were as upset as I was about Asia'h Epperson's departure from American Idol, which brought me to your Asia'h blog:
http://makemoneyforbeginners.blogspot.com/2008/02/asiah-epperson.html

Well, I'm a person who's been making $100/month from AdSense for a few years -- without trying very hard, because I've got the #1 ranked website in my niche (Guitarist.com). All I did was slap up a few AdSense spots a few years ago and I never looked at it again.

But lately I've been thinking about trying to make some real money with the site -- and your presentation of ideas about making money with AdSense hit me like a ton of bricks!

So I've been reading through your lessons with great interest. I feel like the first thing I ought to do is get a handle on where my visitors are coming from and which ads they are clicking on when they leave my site. I've started fooling with Google Analytics, which is telling me a lot about where visitors are coming from, but I don't have the first idea how to tell exactly which ads my visitors are clicking on and how much the ads are paying. You could save me a lot of time with one little clue, I'll bet!

Thanks for lessons!

John Dimick
www.guitarist.com

Grizzly Brears said...

Aravind,

Can you send me the links for the sites using your articles. The obvious answer is that the other sites outrank you. Did they send you a link as the original source?

Grizzly Brears said...

John,

I assume you are talking about Adsense ads.

There may be programs that do what you ask but I don't use them. Tracking individual adsense ads is a violation of Googles TOS and will get your account banned. The best you can do is to use channels when setting up your adsense acct. This will enable you to know which ad block is providing the clicks but not the exact ad. In my case most of my ad blocks only have 1 ad displayed so it's a no brainer as to which ads are most productive.

Your Adsense reports will tell you how much each ad is actually paying you and programs like keyword elite will give you a rough estimate of what people are paying for keywords in Adwords. The Adwords keyword tool will do this as well.

Note: If you join MyBlogLog they also provide some stats for your pages and will tell you what ad block and page your ads are being clicked on. Google will not tell you which page.

Sorry I can't be more help.

John Dimick said...

Griz: Thanks, that helps quite a bit. Tells me what is possible and what isn't. I appreciate it. (I see you're very busy!) -John

I'm already doing all the article writing i can, but it takes like 20 minutes to write a proper article and 15 minutes to rewrite each one so I can submit to article directories.

Don't know if I'm doing everything right, cause I'm not getting anywhere either.

Those photos look really really nice. Guess that's what you can get if you know how to make money online.

Chanya, (Blogstruck)

Glad you liked the photos. The dogs get a lot of attention at the lodge - the fisherman like to email me pictures of their stay and it never fails they send me more pictures of my dogs than of themselves. lol.

Most of the Malamutes are 125 - 145 lbs but the father of the works is huge - 185lbs. In spite of the size they are the gentlest dogs in the world - they love kids and kids love them.

YC,

Thanks for the interest but I'm afraid I'd have to put you on a waiting list for fishing - I have been sold out for several years now. I have 100% recurring groups - same time spots year in and year out. Now ice fishing in January is a possibility... ha.

Grizzly Brears said...

Dinheiro,

I've talked about this a few times and it really isn't something I can give an exact answer for. I typically don't ad Adsense until G starts crawling me regularly and I see some decent movement in the rankings. You also want to have enough content to get the top quality ads from them. I test the Adsense at first and if I don't get the ads or CPC I'm looking for I remove the ads and work on the content until I get what I want.

Monika,

I'm going to assume since you called me Vic that you were just on his site and not because you think we look alike. Ha.

Glad you liked it and you can drop in anytime - I imagine we are about as different from Australia as anyplace you will find.

Hi Griz,
the sites which i was saying yesterday were the article sites in which i posted my duplicate content......................will G check our site each time we update it..............or we have to do anything to make it check our updates................

Wow grizz, I am surprised at the number of comments for a post about nothing ;o)

So, does google count links with more than one link at a site. For example, If I use yahoo answers 10 times will the links count 10 times or just once? Likewise, if I am using the article directories or forums. Will the links count?

I try to put a optimized link from my articles to both my actual article and to the home page.
I am just wondering because I am not seeing much traffic yet. I am just wondering if I need to be patient or if I am doing something wrong.

Also, Do you have an affiliate link for SEO elite. When I make enough money from my one blog I am going to buy it.If I am going to buy it I prefer you benefit from it. As far as making money off your readers.. I think it's giving back a little. Anyone who has read your post and used your methods successfully will realize this.

I used Vic's Hostgator link to purchase a hosting package. alright enough yaking

Thanks for the answer Grizzly. Today i awake up and all my blogger blogs that had good rankings (1 month for one and other for 3 weeks) vanished from the rankings, no traffic at all. I'm disappointed with my work, so much work and no results.

Well Grizz since you're fully booked it looks like you might have to make your way down to Singapore for a holiday instead then because if I were to fall through the ice in January you'll never be able to fish me out... if Vic is what I can imagine myself to look like in a year's time.

Grizz

a slight off topic question which I'm not sure if youve naswered elsewhere but here goes.

For your American Idol Blogs you said you set up an overall one and separate ones for each of the contestants. Did you interlink them with each other or just from the overall AI site or is it not wise to associate them together in case of getting flagged?

all the best

The lodge looks great... Its good to put a picture to...
On a side note (off topic) I was wondering if you would be able to explain the difference between keyword 1 + keyword 2 (keyword phrase) and keyword 2+ Keyword 1. For e.g. if the key phrase is "new york plumber", then is this the same as "plumber new york". I ask this because the different arrangements of keywords bring up different results with respect to competition and seaches... "new york" gives a competition of > 1 million while "plumber new york" around 500,000.... So basically I am askin are these the same..

Great to know the face behind the blogs so helpful and inspiring. Though the pics made me shiver, they are inviting me. My site though it is in the second page of google, hardly gets any visitors, please help.

I came across your blog doing my Entrecard drops this morning, I'm going to add you to my favorites so maybe I can check it out more and learn a few things!

Fran,

My own guess based on previous comments threads is that Grizz does not interlink the sites. They are probably even posted using different Blogger accounts.

I think that your *best* case scenario for trying to do interlinking is that G realizes that they're all your sites and applies a MINIMAL importance to the links.

Don't forget the possibility that G could also see it as an attempt to game the system and actually apply a penalty. Therefore, it's probably wisest to use the "stay under the radar" philosophy and look to alternate solutions for backlink building.

@Grizz, I'm jealous. Beautiful country you have there.

Here's a stupid Blogger question for you Griz.

What do you think of using profile pictures on Blogger blogs that match the 'attitude' of the blog?

I'm kind of torn on it. If you use the profile pic/section that gives visitors something else to click on other than an ad, not good. But, have a blog owner photo that looks the part (fake one of course) might lend some credibility to an otherwise rather lame blog.

What about any other graphical elements that might set an atmosphere for the blog?

Nice Malamutes, BTW.

Venkat said...

Hi Aravind,

Your's is a good blog. I started my blog when "keyword" was a strange word for me hence the confusing blog. I just write what I feel like writing. First for "overcoming inferiority complex" and eighth for "how to attract wealth" on google search as of today with little competition.

There is very little traffic as people are more interested in making money than attracting wealth :). My blog has a PR3, though I don't what it means exactly.

I just love this post Grizzly so I am leaving a comment. The title of the post doesn't match because I actually learn something. I might probably love to stay a place like yours but definitely NOT the SNOW.. I'll probably stay here in Toronto.....

thanks fo the answer. It makes perfect sense now you mention it no to interlink them as you rightly state it could penalise the site(s) in the eyes of the great G. Glad you stepped in fo rthe snowed under Grizz other wise I could have made a boo boo. And a big thanks to you Grizz for this wonderful site without which we wouldnt get the help from you and your knowledgable readership....

OH MAN! Fishing! LOL I love fishing!

My first trip to Canada for fishing we went to Temple Bay. I was preggers with my first child! I was barely getting over morning sickness.

My Husband's friend Tim told the guys (I was the only female in a group of 6), "Lets follow their boat! If she is still getting sick we can CHUM, and get some HUGE fish! I mean how about THAT...built in BAIT!" Yep! I hit him! LOLOLOL!

The first day he got nailed after that comment! I buried the guys! We hired guides to help us the first day, and I was the only one that landed anything! The guide told them, "Looks like she is the only one eating shore lunch TODAY!"

Gotta love it! Those Turkey butts! Daugther's turning 15 soon! LOL! That was my first trip to Canada for fishing!

Grizzly said...

Hannah,

Great story. Most fishermen have come to realize that you should NEVER take your wife fishing - she will always kick your butt. ALWAYS. Don't know why but I've seen it happen dozens of times - must be a law of the universe but women always catch the biggest fish. (and you should hear the lame ass excuses from the forlorn hubbies...)

Thanks Hannah

Hey Griz...
First, I'm on lesson three and yes, people do read and appreciate what you write and your honesty about how to make money blogging. This reader does. I'm working on that Asia'h question and I'll be back on that one.

It's nice to see you fish :)
And it's nice you know who the 'boss' is... lol.
Adorable... and many thanks for all that you share.

Hi Griz,
Well I emailed you earlier asking where you got the nickname Griz and if it was from being in Alaska. Guess what? I just got my answer. Lucky you! What a life you have! I know because after spending 20 years in Alaska with the fishing industry, working at fishing lodges, living in the bush, so I KNOW what a great life it is. Yes, I have flown in and out of the bush on floats and in helicopters too. Love it! Miss it! I am trying my hand for the first time at doing a blog. It is fun! My blog is at http://thealaskatravelexperience.blogspot.com
I had a friend in Unalaska, Alaska who used to set his crabpot with a helicopter on his way out to work then pick it up on his way home. People don't know the excitement until they hang into a laker huh. Do you have Grayling in your area?
Man, you don't know how envious I am of you ...
Later,
Mike

Okay, I'm a complete technotard who doesn't know me a**e from me elbow when it comes to computers, but like many folk out there I've lost so much lately I've gone into 'Try owt(anything-for those not from the Northern regions of England)once'mode, which is how I stumbled across yourself. Sadly as I have up to now viewed computers as typewriters with a huge ego problem, I'm suffering from immense confusion and information overload, so I doubt I shall be making any money anytime soon!.
I cannot however begrudge anyone their success especially someone who has Malamutes and a Wolf. I remember reading an Indian folk tale (can't recall which tribe though)about how the gods were so happy with the animals that they decided to make them human as a reward(not that big a prize if you ask me?)but when they got around to doing the Wolves they just had enough magic left to do their eyes. Love Wolves, tremendous beings, give Max a Wolf chew from me!
I may be back, if my brain doesn't explode first.

Hi Griz,
Beautiful pictures. I love the snow, but not the cold - LOL! I am so happy we finally got a half decent snow storm here in Jersey. I like the four seasons but can't do the cold. I don't know how you adapt, but obviously you do. Oh, and I too have always wanted a pet wolf (seriously).
Anyway, I couldn't find a link to contact you personally and I was hoping maybe you could help me and manybe others out. I've been trying to sign up for bloggingzoom for a few days now and can't. The registration page doesn't exist and the contact form doesn't work. I'm hoping that since you are already a registererd user they provide you with additional contact info besides what's available to us? (wishful thinking?) If you don't mind, and there's a way for you to let them know their site is not functioning properly for new users or to even to contact them, it would be greatly appreciated. If not, oh well!
Take care and thanks for imparting all your wisdom into all of us.

Well, it's nice to have a bit of insight into your life :)

I'm from western Vancouver Island (where we used to swim from March until October) and currently in Alberta - not quite as cold as Eastern Manitoba but cold enough to make me want to go home LOL. I love the bright days and sunshine here, but I think I'm almost beginning to miss the rain O.o

Actually, I think the cold here is beginning to interfere with my webbed hands and feet...

Hey Griz,

I was stopping in to ask a question about meta tags and stumbled across this post. Now I'm just enjoying my own fantasy about a large ranch (or private island - either works).

It was wonderful to be reminded that making money online can be done LITERALLY from anywhere. All I need is the right keys and the persistence to apply those keys.

Enjoy the lake this summer and the toddler. My youngest is three and he is like a learning sponge right now!

Hi Griz,
I have just been all over reading my keyword academy lessons and your blogs when I came across this post..the country is absolutely beautiful. Its sort of comforting there are still such places of true wilderness..I live in Australia and we have them here also...but not frozen wilderness with reindeer and wolves..
tho I did keep Siberian Huskies at one time.
thanks. Nice break from the SEO brainfog

Project Payday - A Legit Method to Make Money at Home

I have included Project Payday on my blog for all of my readers who write in asking if there are any legit online programs that they can use to make some quick money. Project Payday is not a get rich quick scheme - it is more like a work at home job. You don't need a blog or website as it involves getting paid to try out trial offers from online advertisers. There is work to this but you can realistically earn a couple of hundred dollars a day if you want to put in the effort.

I have written several posts about this and suggest you start with this one. Project Payday

Unfortunately Project Payday is only available to American and Canadian users at this time. Oh and it is free.

Note - After signing up take advantage of the Fast First Training link - you can learn how the IFW system works while making yourself a quick $50.00.
